間隔式定語從句
定語從句是英語語系中常見的語言表達(dá)方式，它的功能是修飾名詞或代詞，其位置一般是緊接在先行詞緊后面。但在英語閱讀中，我們常看到這樣的句子：The film brought the hours back to me when I was taken good care of in that far-away village．這樣的句子就叫分隔式定語從句。
例題解析
(2001年高考)
句子結(jié)構(gòu)非常簡(jiǎn)單： The fllm brought the hours backto me。
“這部電影把我?guī)Щ氐侥切⿻r(shí)光”，
哪樣的時(shí)光呢?
結(jié)合后面，是指：在那個(gè)遙遠(yuǎn)的村莊里得到很好照顧的時(shí)光。
When引導(dǎo)的不是時(shí)間狀語從句，而是定語從句，修飾先行詞the hours。在這個(gè)句子中，先行詞the hours和定語從句被 back to me分隔開了，這就是分隔式定語從句。這樣的句子理解起來有一定的難度。
英語句子中出現(xiàn)這種分隔現(xiàn)象的原因是主語或賓語帶了過長(zhǎng)的`修飾成份。為了照顧主句結(jié)構(gòu)緊湊，就常常將主語或賓語與其修飾成份隔開。現(xiàn)將常見的幾種分隔式定語從句總結(jié)歸納如下，供教、學(xué)同鑒。

They still remember one afternoon in the first year when the professor took the students to the chemistry lab．
他們?nèi)匀挥浀靡荒昙?jí)時(shí)教授帶他們到化學(xué)實(shí)驗(yàn)室的那個(gè)下午(先行詞one afternoon和定語從句被用作定語的短語in the first year分隔開了)。
2．先行詞與定語從句之間被用作狀語的短語分開。如：
I was the only person in my office who was invited．
我是我們辦公室里唯一被邀請(qǐng)的人(先行詞person和定語從句被用作狀語的 in my office分隔開了)。
There are thousands of stars in the sky that are like our?鄄Sun.
天空中有數(shù)千個(gè)像我們的太陽一樣的星星(先行詞stars和定語從句被用作狀語的 in the sky分隔開了)。
She sang the songs perfectly there yesterday which was written by me.

3．先行詞與定語從句之間被主句謂語分隔。如：
In 1898，a law was passed which meant all people above a certain age were paid a weekly “old age pension”．
1898年，通過了一項(xiàng)法律，規(guī)定一定年齡以上的人都按周付給“養(yǎng)老金”(先行詞a law和定語從句被主句謂語 was passed分隔開了)。
The days are gone when we suffered so much． 我們受苦受難的日子過去了(先行詞the days和定語從句被主句謂語 are gone分隔開了)。
The days will certainly come when the four modernizations will be realized in our country．
