Translation
Speechlessness is caused by an empty head or a blank mind-that is silence. Enthusiasm fades like dying embers, thus leading to cynicism and indifference to life, which arouses neither happiness nor sadness, neither worries nor anger, without any interest in and desire for anything-that is silence. Despite all the experiences of love and hate, of disorientation andreorietation, of order-giving that was answered by hundreds and calling that was not answered by a single soul, he keeps his mouth shut, but only watches the world calmly-that is also silence. With suffering and hardship, readings of all kinds of human conditions, footprints left in mountains and valleys and sounds of rivers and oceans cherished in the heart, he is deep in though-that is still silence.

Translation:
Life is like a glass of wine, fro which life's passionate lovers will discover inexhaustible delights. If one holds the glass in his hand and inspects the wine carefully, he can find that the wine's dark red color is reminiscent of the blood, which is the sign of life. If one takes a sip of the wine, its bittersweet flavor will persist in his mouth, calling for memories of life's intricacies. Once the sip is swallowed, its lingering fragrance will gladden the heart and refresh the mind, leaving a person lifelong benefit. There is a remarkable resemblance between life and wine: The tastes becomes more delicious as the wine mellows, just as life gets better as it is more enriched. When one approaches his old age, his life is just like a bottle of wine to be savored. Its color id restrained and self-possessed, while its taste brims with generosity and wisdom.

Translation:
It was on an early morning of several years ago, when it was just dawning, that I went in the twilight to a food market near the hotel where I was staying.
The closer I went, the more liveness of the market hung over me. The bustling crowdelbowed their way back and forth at the market. Many senior housewives filled their baskets with vegetables, poultry, meat and various aquatic food. Those satisfied housewives smiled all the way back, some with energetic fish wagging tails in their baskets, and some with plump chicken chuckling along with them.
