Nowadays, it is hard for university graduates to fmd jobs. Therefore, starting their own businesses seems to be a way for them.
More specifically, there are several reasons why I advocate self-em- ployment. Firstly, for the graduates themselves, self-employment is a ne- cessity. Due to the fierce social competition, many graduates have great dif- ficulty searching for positions in the job market. Moreover, self-employment offers opportunities for graduates to put their knowledge into practice and re- alize their personal ambitions. Secondly, as for the self-employment itself, it means higher efficiency and flexibility. Contrary to working in a company or government office, they work on their oCen when they start their own bus- iness, which implies that they have more control over the way they work and more freedom in arranging their personal time and schedule. Accordingly, self-employment can also bring them higher financial reward more propor- tional to their efforts. Thirdly, for the national economy and social stability, self-employment, by providing a practical way for graduates to be em- ployed, can greatly reduce the ever-hacreasing pressure in the national job market, which helps to harmonize our society. Fourthly, self-employment can provide new economic growth points and optimize the structure of so- cialisteconomy. Furthermore, it can diversify our social life by providing more and various services and goods. Lastly, through self-employing, the national spirit of creation, perseverance, hard-struggle and plain living will be passed on.Simply put, with the economy, the job prospect and self-development becoming less predictable, having their destiny in their own hands seems to be the best alternative.

Leisure Time in China
From the graphs we can see that Chinese people now have freer time and holidays than they did before. The average working hours per week decreased from 50 hours in 1980 to 40 hours in 2000, and non-manual workers tend to have a rather shorter week, averaging about 37 hours. In addition, full-time workers now have totally about 120 holidays a year, about one third of the days of the year.
Since the reform and open policy was carried out, Chinese people have had more time to spend on various kinds of leisure activities. A lot of people love both to play and to watch team sports like basketball or football. Many people stay at home having a rest, reading books, watching TV, and so on. In recent years, more and more people love to travel during longer holidays. They go to visit some scenic and historical sites, and some people even make a tour abroad to see the world.
