　　七夕節

　　自上世紀90年代后期起，七夕節(the Double SeventhFestival )開始被稱為“中國的情人節”。這個節日可以追溯到漢朝，當時對戀人、女孩都是個特殊的日子。 這天，女孩會舉行儀式，向織女(Zhinv)乞求智慧、技藝和美滿婚姻，所以七夕節還被稱為“乞巧節(the Begging for SkillsFestival)”。如今，一些傳統習俗已經弱化。人們現在把七夕節當作浪漫的情人節來慶祝，尤其是在年輕人中間。

　　父親節是感恩父親的節日。約始于二十世紀初，起源于美國，現已廣泛流傳于世界各地，節日日期因地域而存在差異。最廣泛的日期在每年6月的第三個星期日，世界上有52個國家和地區是在這一天過父親節。節日里有各種的慶祝方式，大部分都與贈送禮物、家族聚餐或活動有關。

　　Father's Day is a festival of thanking our fathers. 　　清明節：清明節的習俗是豐富有趣的，除了講究禁火、掃墓，還有踏青、蕩秋千、蹴鞠、打馬球、插柳等一系列風俗體育活動。相傳這是因為清明節要寒食禁火，為了防止寒食冷藏傷身，所以大家來參加一些體育活動，以鍛煉身體。因此，這個節日既有祭掃新墳生別死離得悲酸淚，又有踏青游玩的歡笑聲，是一個富有特色的節日。

　　端午節，又叫龍舟節，是為了紀念愛國詩人屈原。屈原是一位忠誠和受人敬仰的大臣(minister),他給國家帶來了和平和繁榮。但最后因為受到誹謗(vilify)而最終投河自盡。人們撐船到他自盡的地方，拋下粽子，希望魚兒吃粽子，不要吃屈原的身軀。幾千年來，端午節的特色在于吃粽子(glutinous dumplings)和賽龍舟，尤其是在一些河湖密布的南方省份。

For thousands of years, the festival has been marked by glutinous dumplings and dragon boat races, especially in the southern provinces where there are many rivers and lakes.
