Qing Ming is popularly associated with Jie Zi Zhui, who lived in Shanxi province in 600 B.C. Legend has it that Jie saved his starving lords life by serving a piece of his own leg. When the lord succeeded in being the ruler of a small principality, he invited his faithful follower to join him. However, Jie declined his invitation, preferring to lead a hermits life with his mother in the mountains.
Believing that he could force Jie out by burning the mountain, the lord ordered his men to set the forest on fire. To his consternation, Jie chose to remain where he was and was burnt to death. To memorate Jie, the lord ordered all fires in every home to be put out on the anniversary of Jies death. Thus began the "cold food feast", a day when no food could be cooked since no fire could be lit.
The "cold food" festival occurs on the eve of Qing Ming and is often considered as part of the Qing Ming festival. As time passes, the Qing Ming festival replaced the "cold food" festival. Whatever practice is observed, the basic observation of Qing Ming is to remember ones elders by making a special effort to visit their graves, ashes or ancestral tablets. To make the visit even more meaningful, some time should be spent to remind the younger members of the family of the lives and contributions of their ancestors, and the story of Jie Zi Zhui who choose death over capitulation.

"During the Qingming Festival, it rains in succession, and pedestrians on the road want to break their souls. Excuse me, where is the restaurant? The shepherd boy points to Xinghua village in the distance." When I think of this poem by a great poet of the Tang Dynasty, I think that the Tomb Sweeping Day is coming, and there is only one step left.
On the day of Tomb Sweeping Day, my father said to me early in the morning, "its Tomb Sweeping Day. Its time to worship our ancestors. This is our Chinese traditional custom." I said proudly, "who doesnt know, if you know it alone, dont hurry to sacrifice Zoe." my mother also said: "if you dont say it, we also know that today is Tomb Sweeping Day." I sang with my mother so that my father didnt dare to say anything.
After a ten minute walk, we finally arrived at Grandpas grave. I took out the fruit and pastries, put them away, lit the incense, took them in my hand, bowed deeply to my grandfather and said goodbye. Then I took out paper money and lit them in front of my grandfathers tomb. After the father finished the Chinese etiquette to Grandpa, he took out firecrackers and lit them. After a while, there was a "crackling" sound in the sky, which was deafening, like thunder in the sky. Later, I silently made a wish in front of my grandfathers tomb: "I hope my grandfather will bless me to study to a higher level, my family will be happy, healthy and successful in school."
It is worthy of being a traditional festival of our Chinese nation. I think it is so meaningful.

During the Qingming Festival, it rains heavily, and pedestrians on the road are about to lose their souls. Amidst the catchy sound of reading, the annual Qingming Festival is once again celebrated.
I remember there is a legend about Qingming Festival. Once upon a time, a person named Chonger was chased by others. Among the companions, a person named Jiezi Tui cut off the flesh of his thigh to make soup for Chonger when he was about to starve to death. Chonger was the queen, and Jie Zitui returned to the mountains to live in seclusion. A minister came up with a clever idea, which was to use fire to burn the mountains and push Jie Zitui out. However, Jie Zitui was burned to death by fire. In order to commemorate him, there was a custom of not opening fire and eating cold food on Qingming Festival.
Now every Qingming Festival, my grandmother makes delicious rice and vegetable cakes for me. Every time I do a lot, I will send them to relatives and friends. Some of these cakes are white like small Rice and vegetable roll, and some are green like giant green beans.
We will also go to the grave with our whole family. When we get there, we first throw away the branches and big things, then sweep the leaves into clusters of leaves, and finally dispose of them.
This is my Qingming Festival, the Qingming Festival spent in poetry.

The most widely circulated custom during the Qingming Festival is tomb sweeping. Tomb sweeping requires people to bring corresponding sacrifices to go up the mountain to the ancestral cemetery.
On Qingming Festival, many people hold flowers to worship our ancestors. On this day, there were many people in the cemetery, each dressed in solemn attire and with a hint of sadness on their faces. Qingming Festival was originally one of the easiest days to evoke peoples deep longing. In most cases, Qingming Festival is often cloudy and rainy, and the whole earth carries a sense of moisture.
The cypress trees planted in the cemetery have gathered a lot of raindrops. One by one, the cypress trees stand tall in the cemetery, and in front of the rows of parallel graves, many cemeteries are already adorned with flowers. These flowers are a kind of respect and longing expressed by later generations towards their ancestors.
In the customs of Qingming Festival, tomb sweeping seems to be a must do. After sweeping the tomb during the Qingming Festival, there are also many other customs, such as hiking, flying kites, and planting willows. After sweeping graves during the Qingming Festival, my family goes for a spring outing in the suburbs. I will enter nature and savor the taste of hope in spring.
Qingming outing can also alleviate some of the reluctance and longing for ancestors in later generations. Looking at this thriving world and the new life in nature, you should know that tomorrow is beautiful and also carries new hope.
On this years Qingming Festival, my family took me to fly a kite for the first time. On the last day of Qingming Festival, there were some shadows of sunshine in the sky, and due to the continuous blowing of spring breeze, it was a good day to fly kites. So when my parents took me to the square, colorful kites fluttered in the sky, it was really beautiful.
That day, I held a kite with each of my parents and competed on the square to see whose kite flew first and whose kite flew the highest. We were running together on the square, attracting a lot of people to watch.

Qingming is a very important festival in the traditional customs of ancient people, which is also the most important festival for ancestor worship and tomb sweeping. Tomb sweeping, commonly known as going up to the grave, is an activity to pay homage to the deceased. Most Han and some ethnic minorities sweep tombs during the Qingming Festival. According to old customs, when sweeping graves, people should bring alcohol, food, fruits, paper money, and other items to the cemetery, offer food in front of their loved ones graves, burn paper money, cultivate new soil for the graves, fold a few tender green branches and them into the graves, then bow and worship, and finally eat the wine and food back home. The poem "Qingming" by the Tang Dynasty poet Du Mu states: During the Qingming Festival, rain falls heavily, and pedestrians on the road desire to break their souls. Excuse me, where is the restaurant? The shepherd boy pointed to Xinghua Village from afar. Write about the extraordinary atmosphere of Qingming Festival. Until today, the custom of worshipping ancestors and mourning deceased relatives during the Qingming Festival is still prevalent. And it is increasingly valued by people.
Chinese people, influenced by their own culture, have made Qingming a festival for Chinese people to remember their ancestors. During the Qingming Festival, people returned to their hometowns to worship their ancestors, which has become a culture and a habit.
Go for a spring outing, go for a spring outing.
This is the long-standing traditional culture of Qingming in China.

Qingming Festival, together with Spring Festival, Yuanxiao (Filled round balls made of glutinous rice-flour for Lantern Festival) Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Qixi Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, Double Ninth Festival and Laba Festival, is called the eight traditional festivals in China. During the Qingming Festival, people mourn the martyrs, express their grief, and pursue the hope of spring. Before and after the Qingming Festival, it was the time of spring warmth and blooming flowers. People enjoyed admiring flowers, planting trees, and hiking, getting close to nature to their hearts content. Therefore, the Qingming Festival was also known as "Arbor Day" or "Walking Day".
The Qingming Festival in Beijing is rich in folk customs. One of the customs of the Qingming Festival in old Beijing is to go to the Chenghuang Temple on this day to burn incense, worship, pray, and fulfill vows. In the Ming, Qing and Republic of China, there were seven or eight Chenghuang Temple in old Beijing. The "City God" enshrined in the Chenghuang Temple was the most popular god outside the Kitchen God and the God of Wealth. When the Chenghuang Temple is opened every year on the Tomb Sweeping Day, people go to pray for rain in case of drought (sunny in case of rainy weather), go out to pray for peace, recover from illness, pray for the dead and burn incense to worship the gods. In the early days of the Republic of China, there was also the act of "City God God" on a tour. People used eight large sedans to carry rattan made "City God" around the city, and various incense ceremonies accompanied them. After the "City God", they competed in performances such as Yangge, stilts, and Five Tiger Stick, while walking and performing. The street markets they passed through were bustling with visitors.
Another custom during the Qingming Festival in Beijing is to admire flowers and go hiking. In old Beijing, people flocked to the Summer Palace, Tanzhe Temple, and Dajue Temple to admire the rare ancient magnolia trees planted during the Ming and Qing dynasties. The early blooming magnolia flowers were as white as jade, with a fragrant fragrance hanging all over the branches, providing visitors with great pleasure.
Flying kites is also a Qingming Festival custom in Beijing, and this activity is deeply loved by the general public. It is common to see various colorful kites soaring in the blue sky and white clouds aroundSquare, Birds Nest, and vast areas inside and outside the city.
In recent years, the Beijing Qingming Poetry Festival has been getting better and better, and major parks have also launched park tours with Qingming as the theme, allowing people to inherit and promote traditional ethnic culture during traditional festivals, and advocating a healthy and civilized lifestyle through changing customs and traditions.
The annual Qingming Festival has arrived again, and the sadness for the departed loved ones gradually flows into your heart. Family members will leave you one after another, tears may dry up with the passing of time, but sadness and loneliness will not disappear. So, worshipping the graves of loved ones to console the nostalgia, the Qingming custom was passed down.
My closest relatives are still alive, but some familiar ones are gone forever: my great mother-in-law, great grandfather, great grandmother... Today, its time to pay homage to them. It feels like God is playing tricks on people. The three of them left one after another in the past year, bringing us infinite sadness. Everyone says, "People are fake!" Today, we can only express our longing by worshipping them at their graves. Firstly, uncles, uncles, and others set off some firecrackers, and then presented some tribute. At this point, they can worship. I kowtowed respectfully, the red flames scorching my face. Looking at the blurry inscriptions in the clear smoke, I suddenly felt a sense of emotion in my heart.
Once dead, everything becomes empty, feeling so fearful. Once dead, it disappears and will never exist again! Perhaps humans cannot live forever, but since we are alive, we must leave something behind in the world. Since everyone will die, why not live a carefree life? You should do more beneficial things, and when youre on your deathbed, you can exclaim, "I havent lived in vain in this life! Ill die without regrets!"
My family members are reluctant to bring up their grief to others, so let them bury it in their hearts and vent it at some point. I think this is also the meaning of Qingming. But now the meaning of Qingming has been distorted by some people. Do you see, how high is the "Yin Mansion Mansion"? Accompanied by the beautiful sedan girl. Perhaps I havent fully understood Qingming yet, but the worship of Qingming is not in form, but in the true emotions within. Relying on sensationalism and showing off wealth through comparison is not truly great filial piety and compassion.
The vast China is blooming with 56 ethnic flowers. As the saying goes, "A hundred miles have different winds, and a thousand miles have different customs." Each ethnic group and region has its own unique folk customs. Our customs during the Qingming Festival in southern Shaanxi are also very special.
Before and after the Qingming Festival every year, people carry incense watches, fire paper, food offerings, and Qingming hanging to cultivate soil and hang them for purification. They burn paper to pray and offer sacrifices to their deceased loved ones. When hanging it up, just press the note on the grave head, the more you press, the better.
The Qingming Festival has arrived, and every household has to offer sacrifices to their ancestors, and my family is no exception. My grandmother bought some fire paper and then used the current large amount of RMB to divide and print it. I was very curious and wanted to try it with my own hands, but my grandmother tried everything to stop me. I was very dissatisfied and asked, "Why can my younger brother do it, but I cant do it!" I couldnt help but delve deeper. My grandmother finally solemnly told me, "This is a rule established by our ancestors, called male superiority and female inferiority. If you come to print money, this paper money cannot be sent to the underworld." What puzzled me was more than that. After dividing and printing the paper money, I went back to my room to prepare it. I thought the fire paper must go up the mountain, so I put water, bread, jelly in my bag... When I went out with these things, my grandmother looked at me and asked, "What are you doing with these things?" "Lets go to the grave!" My grandmother laughed and said, "You dont need to bring these things. Well burn fire paper in the yard." Then she said, "The ancestral tomb is too far to go, so well burn some paper money in the yard and invite our ancestors to come and collect money from us." My grandmother drew a circle in the yard with a wooden stick and asked us to kneel around the circle and burn fire paper. ". Everyone was burning fire paper while grandma was muttering words like "bless peace". She also said to us, "You must say more of these blessings..."
Different regions and ethnic groups have their own unique customs. Do you think the Qingming customs here are very distinctive?

The annual Qingming Festival is here again. Qingming Festival is a traditional Chinese festival for ancestor worship and tomb sweeping, and it is also one of the 24 solar terms.
In my hometown, the main custom of Qingming Festival is to sweep graves and worship ancestors. So Qingming is also known as "Ghost Festival". There is also a custom of going up and adding graves in the folk. The younger generation brought burning paper, offerings, etc. to the graves of deceased relatives, and burned paper to kowtow. Finally, add new soil to the grave and press a white note on the grave head. Listening to the elderly, this is to repair houses for deceased loved ones, in case of heavy rain and water leakage in the summer. To express condolences for the deceased loved ones. At this moment, I remember a poem by the great poet Du Mu called "Qingming": "During the Qingming season, rain falls heavily, and pedestrians on the road are about to lose their souls. I ask where the tavern is, and the shepherd boy points to the Apricot Blossom Village from afar."
The Qingming Festival is in spring, and all things are reviving. The spring scenery is bright, with peach blossoms and willows green, and everywhere is a vibrant scene. In addition to tomb sweeping, there are also activities such as outings. At this time, people will take their families to the wilderness to relax and unwind their tense emotions caused by work, which can also increase the harmonious atmosphere of the family. There was also a custom of hiking in ancient times, which has been passed down to this day. The famous painter Zhang Zeduans work "Along the River during the Qingming Festival" vividly depicts the lively scene of peoples outings and outings in the capital city during that time.
Qingming Festival is still a good season for planting trees. Therefore, there is also the activity of planting willows and trees. The old people say that there was a saying in the old days that goes, "On the Qingming Festival, no willows will be planted, and the next year it will become a yellow dog.".
In addition to the above customs, there is also the custom of eating eggs. This is just like the custom of eating dumplings during the Spring Festival, Zongzi during the Dragon Boat Festival, and moon cakes during the Mid-Autumn Festival. With the development of society, some of these customs have been eliminated, some have been passed down to this day, and some have added new content.
In addition to these customs, there are also joyful activities for our friends during the Qingming Festival, such as swinging and flying kites. The most fun part is flying kites. Everyone is running back and forth on a wide open field, laughing and laughing, sending kites to the blue sky together. Lets fly joy, dreams, and hopes together.
The traditional customs of Qingming Festival are rich and interesting. In addition to emphasizing the prohibition of fire and tomb sweeping, there are also a series of customs and sports activities such as hiking, swinging on the swing, and planting willows. It is said that this is because during the Qingming Festival, there is a ban on cold food and fire. In order to prevent cold food from harming the body, everyone comes to participate in some sports activities to exercise. Therefore, this festival is characterized by both the sorrowful tears of sweeping new graves, bidding farewell to life, death, and separation, as well as the laughter of hiking and playing. It is a unique festival.
Tomb Sweeping and Sacrificing: Tomb sweeping and sacrificing during the Qingming Festival refers to the "respect for the times" towards ancestors. According to the long-standing customs and habits, in the old days, most people in Beijing would sweep tombs and offer sacrifices during the Qingming Festival. However, the sweeping ceremony did not take place on the same day as the Qingming Festival, but rather near it It will be held on a single day. It is said that only monks worship and sweep tombs on Qingming Day.
Inserting willows: It is said that the custom of ing willows is also to commemorate the agricultural ancestor Shen Nong, who taught the people how to cultivate crops. In some places, people plant willow branches under the eaves to forecast the weather. As the ancient saying goes, "When the willow branches are green, the rain will be hazy; when the willow branches are dry, the sky will clear.". During the Huangchao Uprising, it was stipulated that the Qingming Festival would last for a period of time, with the name "Dai Liu". After the failure of the uprising, the traditional custom of wearing willows gradually faded away, and only the practice of ing willows continued to flourish. Willow has a strong vitality. As the saying goes, "If you plant flowers with a heart, they will not grow; if you do not willows, they will provide shade." Willow branches will live wherever they are ed into the soil, and every year they will be ed, creating shade everywhere.
There is also a saying that during the Qingming Festival, Chinese people celebrate the three major ghost festivals of Qingming, July and the first half of the lunar month, and the new moon in October, when a hundred ghosts appear and seek revenge. People plant and wear willows to prevent the invasion and persecution of ghosts. Lius have the function of warding off evil in peoples minds. Influenced by Buddhism, people believe that willows can dispel ghosts and call them "ghostly trees".

April 4th is a day of national sorrow - Qingming Festival. On that day, my heart will be particularly sad and tearful. This day is to send my sincerest wishes to his deceased relatives, friends, and revolutionary martyrs.
When visiting the deceased, avoid a playful smile, as this is the greatest respect for the deceased. The attire should not be too flashy, and the color is best black, because it respects the deceased the most and can also better reflect peoples back pain due to losing family and friends.
Qingming Festival is an important festival for Chinese people to recognize their ancestors and return to their homeland. On the Qingming Festival, ancestor worship and tomb sweeping are usually carried out by removing weeds and adding new masters to ancestral graves, known as cultivating graves; Cut colored paper into paper skewers, hang them in front of the grave, incense candles, burn paper money, kneel and kowtow. The simple sacrificial ceremony is commonly known as "ing green" or "going up to the grave", to express nostalgia and remembrance for ancestors.
A hundred miles have different winds, and a thousand miles have different customs. The customs vary across the country, and the date of the festival also varies. The Qingming Festival in the lunar calendar is generally between April 4th and 6th of each year in the Gregorian calendar.
In my hometown, setting off firecrackers is also indispensable during the Qingming Festival. This is not a joyful sound during the Chinese New Year, but a longing for family, friends, and revolutionary martyrs. During the Qingming Festival, there will always be drizzling or pouring rain in the sky, but this cannot stop people from commemorating the deceased. They walked towards the cemetery with a calm face and heavy steps. The light rain pattered, which perfectly matched Du Mus poem "During the Qingming Festival, rain poured down, and pedestrians on the road wanted to lose their souls."
Qingming Festival, a season of falling rain, is also a season of suppressed and painful emotions.

The customs of Qingming Festival are rich and colorful. In addition to emphasizing the prohibition of fire and tomb sweeping, there are also a series of cultural activities such as hiking, swinging on swings, cuju, playing polo, and ing willows. It is said that during the Qingming Festival, cold food and no fire are allowed. In order to prevent cold food from harming the body, everyone participates in some sports activities together to exercise. Therefore, in this festival, there are both sorrowful tears of sweeping new graves, bidding farewell to life, death, and separation, as well as joyful laughter of outings, making it a distinctive festival.
There is a custom of ing willows during the Qingming Festival, which is to commemorate Jie Zitui. Jie Zitui burned himself under a big willow tree in order to uphold his integrity, causing great sorrow to Duke Wen of Jin and his officials and people. The next year, when Duke Wen of Jin personally led his courtiers up the mountain to pay homage to Jie Zitui, he found that the old willow tree that had been burned down that year had actually died and revived. Duke Wen of Jin immediately named the old willow tree "Qingming Willow" and cut off several willow branches on the spot to wear on his head as a gesture of nostalgia. From then on, the officials and the people followed suit one after another, and it became a trend. Therefore, planting and wearing willows during the Qingming Festival became a symbol to commemorate Jie Zitui.
Flying kites is also a favorite activity for children during the Qingming Festival. During the Qingming Festival, there will always be some fluctuating winds, which is very suitable for flying kites. Children not only fly kites during the day, but also at night. At night, hanging a string of colorful small lanterns under a kite or on a wind stable cable, like twinkling stars, is called a "divine lamp". In the past, some people flew kites into the blue sky and used scissors to cut the strings that pulled the kites, allowing the breeze to send them to the ends of the earth. It is said that this can eliminate diseases and disasters, bring good luck for themselves for a year. Due to its fun, some descendants have also passed it down.
However, when burning paper money for family members, it is important to be careful and wait for the ashes to completely lose their brightness before leaving. Otherwise, when the ashes reignite, it will cause a fire, and this Qingming Festival will be full of sin!

The custom of Qingming Festival is to sweep graves, and every time this festival comes, one must sweep graves for their deceased loved ones.
One Qingming Festival, I went with my dad, mom, and sister to help my grandfather sweep the grave. We climbed up the mountain together to sweep the tomb, and I saw adults splashing alcohol and other things on the ground, as well as removing weeds on the side. It was really hard! We also pick flowers and ferns. I see many bamboo shoots underground! "How did we dig out the bamboo shoots we ate?" I asked. Mom replied, "They were all dug out with a hoe." "Oh, that must be very tiring," I said. Mom said again, "Yes, thats why we should cherish food!"
Qingming. The sacrificial sweeping allowed me to see many novel things and understand the hardships of labor. I had these experiences because of commemorating this holiday. Therefore, I couldnt help but be very interested in the origin and purpose of this festival, and I asked my mother this question. My mother replied to me, "Qingming Festival is one of the 24 solar terms in the lunar calendar. When Qingming arrives, the temperature rises and it is the time for spring plowing and planting. It is a great season to guide farmers to carry out agricultural production. At the same time, Qingming Festival is a festival for worshiping ancestors, and the traditional activity is tomb sweeping, which is a kind of respect and longing for ancestors.".
Qingming Festival is a festival that is both meaningful and has taught me a lot of knowledge. I will definitely come to sweep graves on Qingming Festival next year.
During the Qingming Festival, it rains heavily, and pedestrians on the road want to break their souls. They ask where the tavern is, and the shepherd boy points to Xinghua Village. This is a poem written by the Tang Dynasty poet Du Mu about the Qingming Festival, which is one of the 24 solar terms and a traditional folk festival. Whenever its Qingming Festival, people will go to sweep graves, go hiking, plant trees, and so on. When it comes to Qingming Festival, we have to start with the story of Jie Zitui.
According to legend, during the Spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, Chonger wandered outside for 19 years. Jiezi Tui followed him and made great contributions. Chonger returned to China and became a monarch, becoming one of the famous Five Hegemons of the Spring and Autumn period, Duke Wen of Jin. Duke Wen of Jin wanted to appoint Jie Zitui as an official, but Jie Zitui was unwilling to do so. He had already carried his mother behind his back and hid in Mianshan. Duke Wen of Jin asked his imperial guards to search up the Mianshan Mountains, but they couldnt find it. So, someone came up with an idea that it would be better to set fire to the mountain, set fire on three sides, and leave one side. When the fire started, Jie Zitui would walk out on his own. Duke Wen of Jin ordered a fire to be set on the mountain. Unexpectedly, the fire lasted for three days and three nights. After the fire was extinguished, Jie Zi was never pushed out. Upon ascending the mountain, Jie Zitui and his mother and son hugged a burnt willow tree and were already dead. Duke Wen of Jin wept and worshipped Jie Zituis body for a while before burying it. In memory of Jie Zitui, Duke Wen ordered the renaming of Mianshan to "Jie Mountain" and the establishment of ancestral halls on the mountain. He also designated the day of setting fire to the mountain as the Cold Food Festival and instructed the whole country to prohibit fireworks and only eat cold food on this day every year.
Afterwards, the people of Jin were able to live and work in peace, and they greatly missed Jie Zitui, who had made contributions but did not seek wealth and prosperity. On the day of his death, everyone prohibits fireworks to commemorate him. He also used flour and jujube paste to knead it into the shape of a swallow, strung it together with willow strips, ed them on the door, and summoned his soul. This thing is called "Zhi Tui Yan". Since then, cold food and Qingming have become grand festivals for the people of the whole country. During cold food, people do not start a fire to cook and only eat cold food. In the north, the common people only eat pre made cold foods such as jujube cakes, wheat cakes, etc; In the south, it is mostly made of green dough and glutinous rice and sugar lotus roots. During each Qingming Festival, people weave willow branches into circles and wear them on their heads, and them into the front and back of the house to show their nostalgia.

Qingming is the fifth solar term of the year, which falls on April 5th and 6th according to the Gregorian calendar, and in the first half of March according to the lunar calendar. The ancients calculated the solar terms from the Winter Solstice to the Qingming Festival, with a total of seven solar terms separated between them. Each solar term is calculated as 15 days, for a total of 105 days, while the Qingming Festival lasts for 106 days. So the ancients said, "On the hundred and sixth day of the winter solstice, it is Qingming." They also said, "On the fifteenth day of the spring equinox, the Qingming wind arrives."
Qingming was already popular in the distant Zhou Dynasty. The ancients attached great importance to this festival, and poets and lyricists throughout history have described the grandeur of the Qingming Festival. Since ancient times, people have left behind many customs during the Qingming Festival.
Tomb sweeping and ancestor worship during the Qingming Festival have a long history and have been passed down through tradition. Tomb sweeping, also known as tomb sacrifice, sacrificial sweeping, or going to the grave. Tomb sweeping during the Qingming Festival is due to the awakening of insects and the passing of the spring equinox, the melting of ice and snow, and the emergence of plants and trees. People think of their ancestors graves, whether foxes and rabbits have penetrated holes, and whether they will collapse due to the rainy season. Therefore, on the one hand, they go to the graves to remove weeds, repair tree branches, and add a few shovels of soil to the graves; On the other hand, prepare some sacrifices, burn some paper money, hang some notes on the branches, and hold a simple sweeping ceremony to express remembrance for the deceased.
In ancient times, there was a custom of taking a spring outing on February and March. On February 2nd, when the river rises and the east wind blows, the liver hears the sound of sheng. On March 3rd, the weather is new, and there are many beautiful people by the water in Changan. These records depict the magnificent scenery of Tang Dynasty outings. In ancient times, on this day, people gathered with relatives and friends, supported the elderly and children, took the great spring sunshine to the outskirts for a spring outing, and then gathered around for a picnic before returning at dusk.
Before and after the Qingming Festival, there were still many traditional and colorful cultural and sports activities, such as tug of war, swinging on swings, flying kites, playing polo, cockfighting, and so on. The customs of Qingming Festival are rich and colorful, and there are numerous records throughout history. The works of the poet Huai Qingming are even more brilliant and unforgettable. In these senses, Qingming is both a solar term and a traditional festival. It is an opportunity to express grief. Groups of young people from various regions pay tribute to the martyrs cemetery by offering flowers, inviting revolutionary predecessors to give speeches, telling revolutionary stories, or organizing visits, travels, visiting scenic spots, and collecting specimens, enriching the festive content.

"During the Qingming Festival, it rains heavily and pedestrians on the road feel like losing their souls." This is a poem by the great Tang Dynasty poet Du Mu. Every time I read this poem, I think of the teachers lecture on the origin of Qingming Festival. Qingming Festival was originally dedicated to commemorating the minister of Duke Wen of Jin, Jie Zitui, but later evolved into a festival to commemorate ancestors and revolutionary martyrs.
Today is the annual Tomb Sweeping Day again. Early in the morning, our family prepared paper money, fruit, Mantou, wine and other offerings, and set out for my great grandfathers cemetery with firecrackers, shovel, pine and cypress trees and other tools. We arrived at the mountain and saw graves one after another, with weeds and thorns growing next to them. After a lot of effort, we finally arrived at my great grandfathers tombstone and began to "sweep the grave". My brother, elder sister, and second sister and I placed offerings. My father and mother repaired the tomb with shovel. My grandfather and grandmother planted trees, folded paper money, and burned paper money. In no time, the four of us children finished setting up the offerings. We saw offerings ranging in height, some resembling pyramids, some resembling cliffs and steep cliffs, and some resembling a mountain. My parents have also repaired the grave, my grandparents have planted pine and cypress trees, folded paper money, and started to light it. I saw the ashes of the paper money slowly fly into the sky, and we kowtowed and bowed with a sad and heavy heart.
Next, we arrived at the Zhugou Martyrs Cemetery and saw the names of each martyr clearly engraved on the stone tablet. When we saw the names of these martyrs, my mind came to mind their heroic scenes of killing enemies on the battlefield. I couldnt help but bow deeply to them and then offer a bouquet of flowers.
The Qingming Festival, also known as the Spring outing festival, is a scene of the revival of all things in nature, peach blossoms and willows, and vitality. It is also a great time for spring plowing. "Before and after the Qingming Festival, plant melons and beans." "Planting trees and afforestation is better than Qingming." Qingming Festival is also a time for flying kites. As the saying goes, flying kites is to dispel bad luck. Our school also holds outings and kite flying activities to help students relax.
This is the Qingming Festival custom in our hometown.

The custom during the Qingming Festival is to sweep graves, and during this traditional festival, it is necessary to sweep graves for deceased family members.
During the Qingming Festival, I went with my parents and my own sister to help my grandfather sweep the grave. We climbed to the mountaintop together to sweep the tomb, and I saw everyone spraying alcohol on the ground, as well as removing the wild grass on the side. It was really difficult! Everyone also picks flowers and vegetables. I see many spring shoots underground! "How did everyone dig up the spring bamboo shoots they ate?" I asked. My mother replied, "They were all dug with a shovel." "Oh, thats definitely tiresome " I said. Mom said again, "Yes, thats why we should cherish food!"
The tomb sweeping during the Qingming Festival allowed me to see many unique items and understand the hardships of laborers. Due to commemorating this traditional festival, I have this feeling. Therefore, I couldnt help but have a special fondness for the origin and purpose of this festival, so I asked my mother this question. My mother responded to me, "Qingming Festival is one of the twenty-four solar terms in the lunar calendar. With the arrival of Qingming Festival, the climate is warming and it is a great time for farming and spring sowing, which can provide specific guidance for farmers to engage in agriculture. In addition, Qingming Festival is a traditional festival for worshiping ancestors, with a traditional theme activity of tomb sweeping, which is a way of valuing and missing ancestors. In 2007, this traditional festival was also included in the first batch of intangible cultural heritage property lists."
The Qingming Festival is a traditional festival with practical significance and has helped me understand a lot of professional knowledge. I will definitely come to sweep graves during the Qingming Festival.
