As we can see from the picture , an old woman sits on the chair as if she is talking with her images in the front mirror and shadows on the wall,saying that “my sons have gone to work and my grandsons have gone to school ,leaving me alone at the cold house.
The picture does reflect a thought-provoking social phenomenon. Nowadays , a majority of the aged in china have the Empty-nest syndrome which means that the aged have no family members to accompany with so that they feel lonely and helpless, as which reflects in the picture. The widely existence of the Empty-nest syndrome mainly owing to many people’s occupation of personal affairs,especially in work and children’s education,which leads to their having no time caring their old parents and even neglecting them.
This phenomenon reflected in the picture is immoral and distressed. It is well-known that caring the aged and not making them feel lonely and hopeless is not only the traditional virtue cherished by Chinese but also a duty laid down in the constitution. In order to prevent such phenomenon typified in the picture ,we should make efforts to promote moral education ,and ,at the time ,strengthen the regulations and laws . Only in these ways can we ensure a better life for the aged.

On the other hand,some people think supporting the orderly is the government’s responsibly.The reasons for this are as follow,First,as the result of birth control and improvement of medical care,supporting the old has become an issue of China today,the government should takes a series of measures to solve the problem and also pays a lot of money for the old every year in order to make them live better.Second,the old man is a social vulnerable groups,the government has the responsibility to support the old man.
In my opinion,it’s necessary to support the old man.In China,because of its tradition,the old man are mostly supported by their children,but our government and society should take measures to support
the old.We believe the system of our country to support the old would be perfect one day.
