Last week, thousands of my fellow students had their blood type tested in order to make a contribution for the children who suffer from blood cancer.
As college students, we are adolescents at the critical turning point in our lives. when i was young, i used to be very naughty. life then was like a glaball ,shining with bright colours. i had once gone down to the river bank, catching a great many worms and was afterwards punished by mum. i had ever cut the pillow towel into pieces in order to make clothes for my dolls. similarly, i was then blamed seriously. once i even put the hot iron on the floor which immediately burnt a big hole on the carpet. although i had done so many annoying things, my childhood seemed to be rather colourful. however, i had never had a clear definition about myself. but then something happened. it had made a great difference to my life and made who i am now.
i had always been afraid of having the intravenous drop in hospital. the first time i was taken to have the drop, i cried for almost half an hour and finally gave off at father's severe scolding. watching the cold needle stabbing into my skin, i cried even more loudly. at that time, i never dared to take a glance at my hand and always needed my mother to stay with me at my side. even if mum had told me many times," honey, there’s nothing to be scared of. just close your eyes and sleep." i would still keep my eyes wide open, watching the liquid flow through the bottle and never slept.
nevertheless, things just happened in a casual way. when i caught a high fever again when young, mum had to send for the doctor home to treat me. i was so sick that i became quite drowsy and then slept. when i suddenly woke up in the afternoon, i found the liquid in the bottle had already flown over ,while mum and dad were not around. i yelled, but finally found it was of no use. so i jumped out of the bed and pulled up the tubule. in the nature of things, the blood came out and dropped along the way i went downstairs. things became different at the time i went down alone. i discovered that i could be independent. i was much stronger than i had thought. looking back on the girl who cried all day, i came to understand suddenly that the strong part of the inner myself had been existing all the time. seeing the anxious mum, i revealed a big smile to her. i could see that mum was trying to hold her tears back and scrubbed my blood on the hand. she didn't know that her little girl had stealthily grown up.
since then, i became stronger. as you see now, standing in front of you is a confident and sunny girl. in my grown-up life, i've never cried for being injured no matter how serious it is. i can even go to the hospital alone when mum and dad are on business. i came acroso many difficulties in life, while i've never thought of giving up. thanks to that extraordinary experience at my age of ten, i discovered a person inside myself who has been so important and unique to me. just like what dad had told me before, "people are like tea bags—you have to put them in hot water before you know how strong they are."

另外聯(lián)想法也很有用，當(dāng)你的詞匯量累積到一定程度時(shí)，就要學(xué)會(huì)在學(xué)習(xí)新的單詞時(shí)聯(lián)想到曾學(xué)過(guò)的與新單詞有聯(lián)系的表達(dá)方式，反之亦然。這樣不僅能更深刻理解這些有聯(lián)系的單詞的區(qū)別。同時(shí)也能起到“溫故”的'作用。

In a word there is a long way to go before we enjoy a clean and comfortable world.

春節(jié)，是農(nóng)歷的歲首，春節(jié)的另一名稱叫過(guò)年，是中國(guó)最盛大、最熱鬧、最重要的一個(gè)古老傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日，也是中國(guó)人所獨(dú)有的節(jié)日。是中華文明最集中的表現(xiàn)。自西漢以來(lái)，春節(jié)的習(xí)俗一直延續(xù)到今天。春節(jié)一般指除夕和正月初一。但在民間，傳統(tǒng)意義上的春節(jié)是指從臘月初八的臘祭或臘月二十三或二十四的祭灶，一直到正月十五，其中以除夕和正月初一為高潮。如何過(guò)慶賀這個(gè)節(jié)日，在千百年的歷史發(fā)展中，形成了一些較為固定的風(fēng)俗習(xí)慣，有許多還相傳至今。在春節(jié)這一傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日期間，我國(guó)的漢族和大多數(shù)少數(shù)民族都有要舉行各種慶祝活動(dòng)，這些活動(dòng)大多以祭祀神佛、祭奠祖先、除舊布新、迎禧接福、祈求豐年為主要內(nèi)容。活動(dòng)形式豐富多彩，帶有濃郁的民族特色。 春節(jié)的來(lái)歷有一種傳說(shuō)，中國(guó)古時(shí)候有一種叫“年”的怪獸，頭長(zhǎng)觸角，兇猛異常。“年”長(zhǎng)年深居海底，每到除夕才爬上岸，吞食牲畜傷害人命。因此，每到除夕這天，村村寨寨的人們扶老攜幼逃往深山，以躲避“年”獸的傷害。有一年除夕，從村外來(lái)了個(gè)乞討的老人。鄉(xiāng)親們一片匆忙恐慌景象，只有村東頭一位老婆婆給了老人些食物，并勸他快上山躲避“年”獸，那老人笑道：“婆婆若讓我在家呆一夜，我一
定把?年?獸攆走。”老婆婆仍然繼續(xù)勸說(shuō)，乞討老人笑而不語(yǔ)。 半夜時(shí)分，“年”獸闖進(jìn)村。它發(fā)現(xiàn)村里氣氛與往年不同：村東頭老婆婆家，門貼大紅紙，屋內(nèi)燭火通明。“年”獸渾身一抖，怪叫了一聲。將近門口時(shí)，院內(nèi)突然傳來(lái)“砰砰啪啪”的炸響聲，“年”渾身戰(zhàn)栗，再不敢往前湊了。原來(lái)，“年”最怕紅色、火光和炸響。這時(shí)，婆婆的家門大開(kāi)，只見(jiàn)院內(nèi)一位身披紅袍的老人在哈哈大笑。“年”大驚失色，狼狽逃躥了。第二天是正月初一，避難回來(lái)的人們見(jiàn)村里安然無(wú)恙十分驚奇。這時(shí)，老婆婆才恍然大悟，趕忙向鄉(xiāng)親們述說(shuō)了乞討老人的許諾。這件事很快在周圍村里傳開(kāi)了，人們都知道了驅(qū)趕“年”獸的辦法。從此每年除夕，家家貼紅對(duì)聯(lián)、燃放爆竹；戶戶燭火通明、守更待歲。初一一大早，還要走親串友道喜問(wèn)好。這風(fēng)俗越傳越廣，成了中國(guó)民間最隆重的傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日。
二、春節(jié)的習(xí)俗
1、臘月二十三 祭灶
我國(guó)春節(jié)，一般是從祭灶揭開(kāi)序幕的。祭灶，是一項(xiàng)在我國(guó)民間影響很大、流傳極廣的習(xí)俗。舊時(shí)，差不多家家灶間都設(shè)有“灶王爺”神位。
2、臘月二十四 掃塵
“臘月二十四，撣塵掃房子” ，據(jù)《呂氏春秋》記載，我國(guó)在堯舜時(shí)代就有春節(jié)掃塵的風(fēng)俗。按民間的說(shuō)法：因“塵”與“陳”諧音，新春掃塵有“除陳布新”的涵義，其用意是要把一切窮運(yùn)、晦氣統(tǒng)統(tǒng)掃出門。這一習(xí)俗寄托著人們破舊立新的愿望和辭舊迎新的祈求。 每逢春節(jié)來(lái)臨，家家戶戶都要打掃環(huán)境，清洗各種器具，拆洗被褥窗簾，灑掃
六閭庭院，撣拂塵垢蛛網(wǎng)，疏浚明渠暗溝。到處洋溢著歡歡喜喜搞衛(wèi)生、干干凈凈迎新春的歡樂(lè)氣氛。
3、臘月二十五 接玉皇
舊俗認(rèn)為灶神上天后，天帝玉皇于農(nóng)歷十二月二十五日親自下界,查察人間善惡，并定來(lái)年禍福，所以家家祭之以祈福，稱為“接玉皇”。這一天起居、言語(yǔ)都要謹(jǐn)慎，爭(zhēng)取好表現(xiàn)，以博取玉皇歡心，降福來(lái)年。
4、臘月二十七、二十八 洗浴
傳統(tǒng)民俗中在這兩天要集中地洗澡、洗衣，除去一年的晦氣，準(zhǔn)備迎接來(lái)年的新春，京城有"二十七洗疚疾，二十八洗邋遢"的諺語(yǔ)。臘月二十六洗浴為“洗福祿”。
5、臘月三十除夕 貼門神、貼春聯(lián)、守歲、爆竹、吃年夜飯、給壓歲錢、祭祖
除夕的意思是“月窮歲盡”，人們都要除舊部新，有舊歲至此而除，來(lái)年另?yè)Q新歲的意思，是農(nóng)歷全年最后的一個(gè)晚上。故此期間的活動(dòng)都圍繞著除舊部新，消災(zāi)祈福為中心。
春聯(lián)、貼福字、貼窗花、貼年畫(huà)、貼掛千。這些都具有祈福、裝點(diǎn)居所的民俗功能。反映了人民大眾的風(fēng)俗和信仰，寄托著人們對(duì)未來(lái)的希望。
守歲，我國(guó)民間在除夕有守歲的習(xí)慣，俗名“熬年”。守歲從吃年夜飯開(kāi)始，這頓年夜飯要慢慢地吃，從掌燈時(shí)分入席，有的人家一直要吃到深夜。守歲的習(xí)俗，既有對(duì)如水逝去的歲月含惜別留戀之情，又有
對(duì)來(lái)臨的新年寄以美好希望之意。
爆竹，中國(guó)民間有“開(kāi)門爆竹”一說(shuō)。即在新的一年到來(lái)之際，家家戶戶開(kāi)門的第一件事就是燃放爆竹，以嗶嗶叭叭的爆竹聲除舊迎新。爆竹是中國(guó)特產(chǎn)，其起源很早，至今已有兩千多年的歷史。放爆竹可以創(chuàng)造出喜慶熱鬧的氣氛，是節(jié)日的一種娛樂(lè)活動(dòng)，可以給人們帶來(lái)歡愉和吉利。王安石的《元日》詩(shī)：
爆竹聲中一歲除，
春風(fēng)送暖人屠蘇。
千門萬(wàn)戶曈曈日。
總把新桃換舊符。
描繪了我國(guó)人民歡度春節(jié)盛大的喜慶情景。
在古代的農(nóng)業(yè)社會(huì)里，大約自臘月初八以后，家庭主婦們就要忙著張羅過(guò)年的食品了。因?yàn)殡缰婆D味所需的時(shí)間較長(zhǎng)，所以必須盡早準(zhǔn)備，蒸年糕，年糕因?yàn)橹C音“年高”，再加上有著變化多端的口味，幾乎成了家家必備的應(yīng)景食品。年糕的式樣有方塊狀的黃、白年糕，象征著黃金、白銀，寄寓新年發(fā)財(cái)?shù)囊馑肌Ｄ旮獾目谖兑虻囟悺?/p>
餃子，北方年夜飯有吃餃子的傳統(tǒng)，但各地吃餃子的習(xí)俗亦不相同，有的地方除夕之夜吃餃子，有的地方初一吃餃子，吃餃子是表達(dá)人們辭舊迎新之際祈福求吉愿望的特有方式。餃子就意味著更歲交子，過(guò)春節(jié)吃餃子被認(rèn)為是大吉大利。另外餃子形狀像元寶，包餃子意味著包住福運(yùn)，吃餃子象征生活富裕。
吃年夜飯，也叫團(tuán)圓夜，離家在外的游子都要不遠(yuǎn)千里萬(wàn)里趕回家來(lái)
是春節(jié)家家戶戶最熱鬧愉快的時(shí)候。大年夜．豐盛的年菜擺滿一桌，圍坐桌旁，共吃團(tuán)圓飯，心頭的充實(shí)感真是難以言喻。
給壓歲錢，壓歲錢是由長(zhǎng)輩發(fā)給晚輩的，有的家里是吃完年夜飯后，人人坐在桌旁不許走，等大家都吃完了，由長(zhǎng)輩發(fā)給晚輩，并勉勵(lì)兒孫在在新的一年里學(xué)習(xí)長(zhǎng)進(jìn)，好好做人。
6、正月初一 拜年
春節(jié)早晨，開(kāi)門大吉，先放爆竹，叫做“開(kāi)門炮仗”。爆竹聲后，碎紅滿地，燦若云錦，稱為“滿堂紅”。這時(shí)滿街瑞氣，喜氣洋洋。 春節(jié)里的一項(xiàng)重要活動(dòng)，是到新朋好友家和鄰那里祝賀新春，舊稱拜年。新年的初一，人們都早早起來(lái)，穿上最漂亮的衣服，打扮得整整齊齊，出門去走親訪友，相互拜年，恭祝來(lái)年大吉大利。拜年的方式多種多樣，有的是同族長(zhǎng)帶領(lǐng)若干人挨家挨戶地拜年；有的是同事相邀幾個(gè)人去拜年；也有大家聚在一起相互祝賀，稱為“團(tuán)拜”。由于登門拜年費(fèi)時(shí)費(fèi)力，后來(lái)一些上層人物和士大夫便使用各貼相互投賀，由此發(fā)展出來(lái)后來(lái)的“賀年片”。春節(jié)拜年時(shí)，晚輩要先給長(zhǎng)輩拜年，祝長(zhǎng)輩人長(zhǎng)壽安康，長(zhǎng)輩可將事先準(zhǔn)備好的壓歲錢分給晚輩，據(jù)說(shuō)壓歲錢可以壓住邪祟，因?yàn)椤皻q”與“祟”諧音，晚輩得到壓歲錢就可以平平安安度過(guò)一歲。
7、舞龍

when the aerials are down , and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old ,even at 20 , but as long as your aerials are up ,to catch waves of optimism , there is hope you may die young at 80.
