　1.年份

　　關(guān)于四位數(shù)年份的讀法有下列幾種情形：

　　1)一般情況下，將表示年份的四個數(shù)字按前后分為兩組，每一組的數(shù)字都按基數(shù)詞來讀。例如：1865年讀作eighteen sixty-five

　　1998年讀作nineteen ninety-eight

　　2)如果前兩個數(shù)字為非“零”數(shù)字，后兩位數(shù)分別為“零”，則先讀出前兩位數(shù)，然后將后面的兩個“零”讀為hundred。例如：

　　1900年讀作nineteen hundred

　　1800年讀作eighteen hundred

　　3)第三個數(shù)字為“零”(其他數(shù)字不是“零”)的年份的讀法應當將該“零”讀為O[u]。例如：1809年讀作eighteen O nine

　　4)關(guān)于千年的一些讀法。

　　20xx年讀作two thousand

　　20xx年讀作two thousand and eight(或twenty O eight)

　　1008年讀作one thousand and eight(或ten O eight)

　　另外，還有一些非四位數(shù)的年份，它們有兩種讀法：一種是按照基數(shù)詞的方法來讀，另一種是一個一個數(shù)字來讀。例如：

　　531BC讀作five three one BC(或five hundred and thirty-one BC)

　　2.日期

　　英語日期的讀法、寫法和漢語不同，要注意區(qū)別。英語中年、月、日的表達方法是“月份+序數(shù)詞，年”。x年4月2日應該寫成：April 2nd, x，讀成：April the second, two thousand and one。一般情況下，序數(shù)詞是在基數(shù)詞后加-th，但有幾種特殊情況，可按下面規(guī)律來記：1、2、3單獨記(即first, second, third)，8后少t，9少e(即：eighth, ninth)，5、12變ve為fth(即fifth, twelfth)，整十位數(shù)變y為ie再加th(如twentieth)，二位以上只將個數(shù)變序數(shù)詞(如thirty-second)。

　　例如：

　　October 31(October 31st)讀作October(the)thirty-first

　　August 26(August 26th)讀作August(the)twenty-sixth

　　3.時間

　　時間的讀法有以下一些特點：

　　1)可以直接按照表示時間的數(shù)字來讀。例如：

　　10：56讀作ten fifty six

　　8：30讀作eight thirty

　　2)正點后的前半小時，通常說幾點“過”(past)幾分。例如：

　　9：25讀作twenty-five past nine

　　2：16讀作sixteen past two

　　3)正點后的后半小時，通常說幾點“差”(to)幾分。此時，所說的“幾點”指的是“正點”后的下一個“正點”。例如：

　　10：55讀作five to eleven

　　8：40讀作twenty to nine

　　4)英語中的15分鐘也可以說成“一刻鐘”(a quarter)。例如：

　　4：15讀作a quarter past four

　　7：45讀作a quarter to eight

　　45分鐘讀作three quarters
