1、 I don't ever want to have the effect on a person that this person had on me, where I was just blown away by disappointment. It took a few years to get over it.
PS：請高手重點解析”ever”的意思。

PS：請高手重點解析” you have to feel you’re contributing to something.”
==>謝謝你給我關于等待的啟示，在50歲時，你必須感到你正在做貢獻。
"you have to fell you’re contributing to something"這句話的意思就是：在50歲時，你必須感到你正在對某些事情做貢獻。
4、We stayed at the Ritz-Carlton and just had a blast. Or I’ll give everybody a ride in the Ultra light-it’s a flying kite.
PS：請高手重點解析“ride”在這里怎么翻譯。

7、It got so bad that he either quit or got fired.

==>一般so...that是如此...以至于...的意思，這里上下句不是因果關系: 變得糟糕的是，他既沒有辭職也沒有被解雇。后半句that he either quit or got fired是so bad的補充狀語從句，補充說明so bad的細節，不要太拘泥語法結構，更應該注重的是：1.英語語序特征，2.英語國家的人的邏輯思維特征。
8、He was a tool pusher essentially, sold drill bits to oil-drilling companies.
PS：翻譯這句話。
==>他其實就是一個工具推銷者，賣鉆頭給開采石油的公司。
9、I never think that I ‘m doing eight-minute cures on television. But I think that 50 percent of the solution to any problem lies in defining it first. I can be an emotional compass that points them down the path.
PS：請高手重點解析“cures”與“lies in”的意思，另外 “point……down”是詞組嗎?
==>我從未想過我在用電視做一個8分鐘的治療。但是我認為任何問題50%的解決方法在于先界定它。我可能是沿著路徑指向它們的情感羅盤（指南針）。
cure：名詞，治療。point和后面的down可以認為沒有關系，這里不是詞組，down這里的意思是“沿著”，相當于along。
down the path是介賓結構詞組，在句中作points them的補充狀語。
建議：
不要從語法分析著手來學習英語，因為這樣效果很差。最好是提高閱讀量，讓一切語法變為理所當然的事情，讓記憶單詞成為閱讀時的副產品。
