詞匯辨析：learned learnt

　　These are alternative forms of the past tense and past participle of the verb learn. Both are acceptable, but learned is often used in both British English and American English, while learnt is much more common in British English than in American English.

　　Learnt和learned都是動詞learn的過去式和過去分詞形式。兩者都是正確的，learned在美式英語和英式英語中都可以使用，但learnt在英式英語中使用更多。

　　We learned the news at about three o'clock.

　　我們在大約3點的時候?qū)W習(xí)了新聞。

　　They learnt the train times by heart.

　　他憑記憶得知了火車時間表。

　　Learned(but not learnt) is also an adjective, pronounced as two syllables (lrn|d) rather than the one syllable verb (lnt or lnd). The adjective, when said of a person, means 'having acquired much knowledge through study'. It can also be used of objects, meaning 'showing, requiring, or characterized by learning; scholarly'.

　　Learned(learnt不是)也是一個形容詞,其發(fā)音為兩個音節(jié)(lrn |d)而不是一個音節(jié)(lnt或lnd)。Learned作形容詞形容人時,表示：通過學(xué)習(xí)研究獲得了很多知識，即“學(xué)識淵博的”。Learned也可以修飾物品,這意味著“具有學(xué)術(shù)特點的;學(xué)術(shù)上的”。

　　She is a learned and respected teacher.

　　她是一個博學(xué)且受人尊敬的老師。

　　I read the report in an extremely learned journal.

　　我在一份學(xué)術(shù)期刊上閱讀了這篇報告。
