留學英國大學的法律專業

英美法系VS大陸法系
根據世界各國法律基本特征, 世界上現存有三大法系: 大陸法系、英美法系與伊斯蘭法系, 其中大陸法系和英美法系是世界上應用范圍最廣。英美法系, 又稱普通法法系, 是以英國的普通法為基礎, 現在在英國、美國、以及曾是英國殖民地、附屬國的國家和地區，如印度、巴基斯坦、新加坡、加拿大、澳大利亞、新西蘭、馬來西亞、中國香港地區都有應用。大陸法系, 又稱為民法法系, 起源可以追溯到古羅馬，后擴大到整個歐洲大陸, 法國、德國、意大利、日本、中國(除中國香港)等均采用大陸法系。
英國大學的法律專業細分及職業走向
英國法律相關專業的碩士分LLM(法學碩士)與MSc/MA(理學碩士/文學碩士)兩種, 申請LLM學位的專業大多需要申請人有相關的法律背景或者具備法律相關工作經驗的申請者。非法律背景的申請人建議申請MSc/MA學位的法律相關專業, 這類專業一般都是法律與商科、社會學相結合的學科, 只要學生表達出對法律專業的濃厚興趣以及學習動機，通常不要求學生有相關的專業背景。
雖然法系不同, 但鑒于英國法律專業教育的完善與頗高的含金量，仍然有眾多的學生選擇申請英國的法律專業, 特別是民法商法方向, 如國際商法、國際貿易法、知識產權法、普通法、國際法、海事法等。該方向的畢業生未來可以廣泛就職于各大金融機構, 如銀行、證券公司、保險公司以及各大跨國公司擔任法律咨詢顧問的工作, 也可以就職于律師事務所或者考取相關公務員職位。
