　　The moon shares importance with the sun in your horoscope in making you the kind of person you are.

　　Many people after reading a solar horoscope (which is a character analysis of a person, based on the influence and quality of the sun in the birth sign,) complete the reading, disappointed with the material, not because it is not good enough, but because they do not recognize themselves.

　　A common response to this statement is that few people know themselves, and that regardless of what sort of picture is presented to the native, he or she will not recognize or like it.

　　This may be true in a few isolated cases, but average persons have a deep-rooted desire to know themselves, not only the superficial front that everyone knows, but those hidden depths of the spirit that by their silent motivation really make the history of the native.

　　There are several reasons why the solar horoscope may never reveal this unfamiliar self. Sometimes the sun is found in a sign where it is weak, and does not give the personality the strength to mark it indelibly. The sun is notably weak in Libra and Aquarius.

　　In other natal figures the sun may be opposed and in that way lose some of its fiery strength.

　　But there are other horoscopes wherein the moon is well aspected, or the position very strong. In addition to these two facts, the moon in each one of the twelve signs makes for even more definite qualities of thought than the sun in the same sign. These qualities may be more variable, less stable, and apparently more transient, but they are intense, and will give the native a clear picture of the disposition, and the extent of rulership over the whole being by this feminine, elusive, and spiritual manifestation.
