  On the train back home that evening she felt hungry, she went to the buffetcar for a sandwich. She had left the black umbrella above her seat in thecompartment, but when she got back, it had gone! Sally burst into tears. Theother three passengers felt sorry for her and asked what the matter was.   自高校入學考試增加口試后,筆者幾乎每年都擔任北京地區主考人,感到有必要從考官的角度與考生談談口試時應注意的問題,英語教授張衛族談如何對付高考英語口試。

  首先,考生要充分意識,口試與筆試最大的不同在于前者面對的是有思想感情的人。而人與人之間素質相異。正因如此,有時理應用理智處理問題時往往受到感情的干擾,這正如比賽評判的“印象分”。為此,考生務必理解主考人的心理狀態,避免給主考人不利自己的印象。以下情況如果出現,主考人往往一開始就會對你產生“壞感”,本應得到的成績就會打折扣:

  l)從備考室到應考室門前后,還需要等候工作人員的通知。上一個考生走出后,兩位考官要就給分進行短暫討論,意見一致后填入表內。評分階段未完前,如果下一個考生進來了,主考人不會就此不滿,因為這不是考生的問題,這時主考人往往用英語說Please wait outside for a moment./Wait outside please. Please dont come in until we ask you to.等等。盡管這些話沒有考生不會的單詞,但由于考生平時接觸的會說英語的較多的是自己的`英語老師和同班同學,乍一聽別人說英語很不習慣。主考人有時要重復兩三遍,甚至加用手勢,考生退出。這將留下第一個“不良印象”。主考人們會想“怎么這么簡單的英語也沒聽懂?”

  2)進入口試室前如能先敲門,并說 May I come in?或 May I?,主考人自然會認為你很有禮貌,中學英語《英語教授張衛族談如何對付高考英語口試》。人還沒見,先有個好印象。

  3)在外表上,考生一般都注意衣著得體。但男生篷亂的頭發最容易給主考人不好印象。

  4)十有八九考生主動打招呼,說Good morning.或Good afternoon.這很好。但在使用稱呼語上要慎重。如最常用的teacher,它在英語習慣里不是個稱呼語,有的主考人認為中國式英語,也有的主考人認為國內有的教材這么用了,因而可以接受。在這種有爭議的情況下,考生應避免給自己找麻煩,就簡單說Good morning/afternoon.為妥。

  5)考生應把準考證交給主考人,以便將有關信息和成績寫在記錄單上。考生如果主動,主考人也就不會說Let me have your examination permit/ID.或Give me your examination permit/ID.(ID= identification card,證明自己“身份”的證件,此處也可表示自己獲準參加考試的證明;permit=許可證)。當然,主考人知道考生會聽不懂,往往邊說邊比劃,可有時考生還不懂,這又會給自己帶來不利的印象分。

  6)在備考室里考生拿到的試卷上要求朗讀的段落都用*記號標出,表示只需朗讀這一段。這種做法“十幾年一貫”,沒有改變過,但不少考生一聽見要朗讀就從文章開頭念。這說明沒有看懂口試要求。類似這種可以防范的錯誤應該避免。

  7)口試時間的一般規律是先松后緊。第一個小時內考生往往能有十分鐘左右,經考場工作人員催促后,主考人會加快口試速度。這時不會要求讀完指定段落就開始就文章內容提問。實際上,檢查考生發音和語音語調無需朗讀一長段文字,讀一兩句就知分曉了。當考生被打斷時,往往是主考人認為朗讀滿意,沒有必要再繼續念下去,可以進行下一項了。這時考生不應緊張,以為念得糟透。而主考人往往會給念的不理想的人多些時間,看看有些錯誤能否自己糾正、不少主考人會認為語音欠佳還能明白,不會分意群就很難聽懂。筆者希望平時多加強較長單句、復合句和復雜句朗讀,進行針對性的意群停頓的訓練。

  8)在回答就文章內容提問時,應盡量在理解內容的基礎上用自己的語言回答。中

  1.短文填空:注意連讀、爆破、前后鼻音、舌邊音、卷舌音、弱讀、定冠詞的兩種讀法、語音語調的抑揚頓挫。

  2. 情景反應:聽力與口語的結合,難度沒有聽力考試的大,答案直接可從對話中聽到,邊看題目邊聽,回答完整句型。

  3. 口語表達:寫作與口語的結合,思路與寫作一樣,表達出提綱意思并用適當連詞連接,尤其是開頭和結尾,如in my view, in a word等口語式的連詞。但忌用復雜句型。

  口語考試是各類外語考試的重頭戲,也是體現考生外語水平的重要指標。但中國考生偏重讀寫,口語能力相對較弱,要想順利通過口語考試,有一定難度。俗話說“熟能生巧”,口語考試雖是道難關,但只要考生認真練習,掌握一定的技巧,完全能達到對答如流的水平。模仿練習與復述練習是攻克英語口語考試的兩大法寶,能幫助考生糾正不良發音,了解英語表達習慣,提高語言流利程度,從而全面提升口語能力。 如何進行模仿練習 模仿的原則:考生必須主動、有意識、有目的地去模仿。模仿時要放開嗓子,口形到位,清清楚楚、一板一眼,并及時糾正說不好的單詞、短語等。純正、優美的語音、語調不是短期模仿就能達到的,需要考生長期堅持鍛煉,一般來說,至少需要半年時間。

  模仿的標準:模仿到什么程度才算好呢?簡單地說就是要“像”,考生的語音、語調等都很接近模仿對象。如能更進一步,在語音、語調等方面都達到逼真的效果,則更為成功。

  模仿的方法:第一步,語音模仿。剛開始模仿時,速度不要過快,并注意口形正確,以便把音發到位。打好基礎后再加快速度,用正常語速反復多練幾遍,直到自如表達意思。對于讀不準或較陌生的單詞,要反復多聽幾遍,逐一進行單獨模仿。第二步,詞組模仿。有了第一步的基礎,這一步就容易多了。考生的重點要放在熟練程度和流利程度上,特別要多練習連讀、同化等語音技巧。第三步,段落及篇章模仿。聽英語

  文章錄音或英語新聞,并跟著模仿,重點在于提高口腔肌肉的反應速度,使肌肉和大腦更加協調,從而提高語言的流利程度。

  模仿練習時要注意克服害羞心理。害羞心理一方面源于性格,內向的人講話時易小聲小氣,這對學習英語語音語調很不利。另一方面是源于自卑心理,總以為自己英語水平太差,不敢開口,尤其是與水平較高者對話時。克服這種心理障礙,是學好口語的前提。

  如何進行復述練習 復述的原則:復述練習一定要循序漸進,從一兩句開始,聽完后用英語表述說出來。剛開始時,因語言表達能力、技巧等方面原因,往往復述接近于背誦。但基礎逐漸好起來后,就會慢慢放開,此時要注意用活語言,如改變句子結構,精減內容,甚至僅復述大意或內容概要。考生在選擇復述內容時,盡量選一些內容生動的小短文或小故事,有明確的情節,生詞量不要太大。有了基礎后,再適當擴大題材范圍。 復述的方法:學英語離不開記憶,復述練習就是一種記憶單詞、句子的形式。但這種記憶不能靠死記硬背,而需掌握一定的記憶方法。復述有兩種常見的練習方法:一種是閱讀后復述,另一種是聽磁帶后復述。后一種方法更為有效,在鍛煉聽力、口語表達能力的同時,還可幫助考生提高注意力,進行有效記憶,克服聽完就忘的毛病。
