cake英語(yǔ)口語(yǔ)用法兩例
1. It‘s a piece of cake.
表示某事很容易，可譯為：那是小菜一碟;那是輕而易舉的'事;那很容易。如：
A：I can‘t do the work. It’s too difficult. 這工作我做不了，太難了。
B：Too difficult? No， it‘s a piece of cake. 太難了，不，那只是小菜一碟。
根據(jù)情況也可用其它時(shí)態(tài)形式：
That won‘t give me any trouble. It’ll be a piece of cake. 那不會(huì)給我添麻煩的，事情很容易。
I needn‘t have worried about my maths exam—it was a piece of cake. 我本來(lái)不必?fù)?dān)心我的數(shù)學(xué)考試的，那簡(jiǎn)直是容易極了。
2. You can‘t have the cake and eat it too.
表示不能同時(shí)做兩件互不相容的事而雙收其利，即兩者不可兼得或不能兩全其美)，可譯為：不能什么都隨你;不能兩全其美;事難兩全;兩者不可兼得。如：
He can‘t make up his mind whether to go to college or get a full-time job. You can’t have your cake and eat it. 上大學(xué)還是找個(gè)全日工作的職業(yè)，他還拿不定主意，兩者不可兼得啊。
You spend all your money on beer and then complain about being poor， but you can‘t have your cake and eat it， you know. 你把所有的錢(qián)都喝啤酒喝完了，然后又抱怨沒(méi)錢(qián)用，你知道，這不能兩全其美啊。
有時(shí)也可說(shuō)：You can‘t eat your cake and have it.
