學英語口語Pushing the boat out 大肆慶祝
在重要的節日或者紀念日的時候，我們常會花錢出去大吃一頓或者買些東西來慶祝。在英語中，這種做法可以用“push the boat out”來表示。
“Push the boat out”意思就是“慷慨而奢侈地花費”，不過它跟“paint the town red”的意思不同，后者意為“狂歡、胡鬧”；而前者表示“雖然出去玩樂，但并不是以一種不負責任的`方式”，強調“花費雖然大，但是也是必要的”。
