地點狀語從句表示地點、 方位， 這類從句通常由where, wherever, anywhere引導。
§I’ll take you anywhere you like.
§Where there is a will, there is a way.
§Put in articles where necessary in the following passages.
(1)地點狀語從句由where，wherever，引導，如：We must camp where we can get water.我們必須在能找到水的地方露營。
(2)地點狀語從句與定語從句的區別 :在于分句在句中作什么成分。作狀語，則是狀語從句;作定語修飾名詞，則是定語從句where引導定語從句時，從句前應有一個表示地點的名詞作先行詞;而狀語從句前則無需先行詞。如：Go back where you came from.(where引導地點狀語從句)你從何處來到何處去。Go back to the village where you came from.(where引導定語從句，修飾village)回到你來的那個村子里去。判斷：①We went home, where we had dinner.此句是where引導的"非限制性"定語從句,這里"where"= at home(先行詞是home)從句還原" we had dinner at home"全句譯：我們回到家，在家里吃了頓飯.②I walk into the canteen where students are eating此句也是where 引導的定語從句，與上句不同之處在于此句是一個"限制性"定語從句.全句譯：我走進了這個同學們都在吃飯的食堂。(限定說明了是一個什么樣的食堂)③地點狀語從句與定語從句其本身屬性就不同：地點狀語從句相當于大的副詞;定語從句相當于大的形容詞,副詞是用來修飾動詞的,例： you can go where you want to go . 你可以去你想去的地方。
(3)地點狀語從句的省略，如:Fill in the blanks with articles necessary.(necessary前省略了where it is)在需要的地方填上冠詞。
(4)地點從句一般位于主句之后，但為了強調，也可以放在句首。With a car，a person can go where he pleases and when he pleases.有了汽車，人可以想去哪兒就去哪兒，想什么時候去就什么時候去。And where there is shale there is likely to be oli.哪兒有頁巖，哪兒就可能有石油。[1]
