端午節的簡介
The Dragon Boat Festival（5th May in Chinese lunar calendar）also called Zongzi Festival and Dragon Boat Festival. It is one of the oldest traditional festival in China with more than 2,000 years history. It’s said that it is to commemorate the death of a Chinese patriotic poet, Qu Yuan. There are lots of activities for Chinese people to celebrate in this festival. Such as hanging pictures of Zhong Kui, hanging calamus and moxa on the door, eating Zongzi, carrying about spice bags, drinking realgar wine, organizing dragon boat race, etc.
端午節(中國農歷五月初五)也叫粽子節和龍舟節。它是中國最古老的傳統節日之一，有2000多年的歷史。據說這是為了紀念中國愛國詩人屈原的去世。在這個節日里，中國人有很多慶祝活動。如掛鐘馗像，門上掛菖蒲艾，吃粽子，背著香料包，喝雄黃酒，組織賽龍舟等。

端午節吃什么？

端午節玩什么？
Dragon boat racing is an indispensable part of the festival, held all over the country. As the gun is fired, people will see racers in dragon-shaped canoes pulling the oars harmoniously and hurriedly, accompanied by rapid drums, speeding toward their destination.

端午節戴什么？
On Dragon Boat Festival, parents also need to dress their children up with a sachet. They first sew little bags with colorful silk cloth, then fill the bags with perfumes or herbal medicines（草藥）, and finally string them with silk threads. The sachet will be hung around the neck or tied to the front of a garment as an ornament. They are said to be able to ward off evil.
端午節最有特色的飾物就是香包（sachet）。小孩佩戴香包，傳說有避邪驅瘟之意。用含有多種香味的藥用植物做成的香包也可以預防疾病。
The sachets (Hsiang Pao in Chinese香包) are very popular with children and they vie(競爭) with each other to collect as many as possible. Children are not the only ones who collect Hsiang Pao. Older people are often given them as a symbol of respect, and they are highly prized because of the intricate(復雜的) and beautiful embroidery(刺繡) that adorns(裝飾) them.
端午節小孩佩香囊，不但有避邪驅瘟之意，而且有襟頭點綴之風。香囊內藏有朱砂。雄黃。香藥， 外包以絲布，清香四溢， 再以五色絲線弦扣成索，作各種不同形狀，結成一串，形形色色，玲瓏奪目。
端午節掛什么？

端午節的起源
The story best known in modern China holds that the festival commemorates the death of the poet Qu Yuan (c.340–278 BC) of the ancient state of Chu during the Warring States period of the Zhou Dynasty.A cabinet member of the Chu royal house, Qu Yuan served in high offices.
However, when the king decided to ally with the increasingly powerful state of Qin, Qu was banished for opposing the alliance and even accused of treason. During his exile, Qu Yuan wrote a great deal of poetry. Twenty-eight years later, Qin captured Ying, the Chu capital. In despair, Qu Yuan committed suicide by drowning himself in the Miluo River.
It is said that the local people, who admired him, raced out in their boats to save him or at least retrieve his body. This is said to have been the origin of dragon boat races. When his body could not be found, they dropped balls of sticky rice into the river so that the fish would eat them instead of Qu Yuans body. This is said to be the origin of zongzi.
