在這個輔導中,我們要為同學們提供兩種學習方式練習用英語寫短文。第一種方式是中國式的“描紅模子”方法,另一種是“美式寫作訓練法”。
我們曾說過,“冰凍三尺,非一日之寒”,用英語寫作,是積英語語言學習各項技能為一體的學習過程,需要長期不懈的練習,才能獲取基本的寫作技能。
希望同學們看完下面的練習方式后,能提出您的建議,說說喜歡采用什么樣的學習方式?我們盡量按照同學們的要求,為你們安排相應的練習內容。
二、美式寫作訓練法
首先,你的短文題目是“吸煙有害健康嗎?”拿到題目首先要審題。題目是一個問題,要求你回答吸煙是否有害。無論你回答吸煙有害還是無害,都要求你舉例說明,最后還要有結論,這就是我們現在用的文字主教材《英語寫作基礎教程》文字教材中的主要教學內容:說明文寫作中的例證說明文,要求用例子來說明你的觀點。
好,我們下面開始“吸煙有害健康嗎?”的寫作練習。
首先,自問幾個問題:
1. 是否會用引文?
2. 是否會用實例和統計數據來支持你的論點?
3. 是否有親身經歷?
4. 是否會用說服性段落?
5. 是否會用正確的.語態?
6. 是否會用條件句?
7. 是否善于參加小組討論?

讓我們看一段學生的文字,看看他是怎么表達的:
Smoking is really harmful to both smokers and to the people around them. Smoking can destroy a smoker’s health since the smoke contains more than 4,000 chemicals.(Slothower) Smoking causes many serious disease. Since smoking “reduces the effectiveness of the immune system,” smokers frequently are ill (Health Edco). In addition to destroying a smoker’s health, secondhand smoke can damage other people’s health, especially children’s one report stated that over 15% of children’s visits to a doctor and 20% of children’s lung infections(感染) were caused by secondhand smoke (California EPA). Secondhand smoke can even cause cavities(腔) in children since “saliva(唾液) can counteract the lactic(乳汁) acid, but passive smoking also causes throat inflammation(炎癥), which leads to mouth breathing, which dries out the mouth” (Kid’s Cavities). Smokers should think of themselves and others and stop smoking now.

英語寫作基礎方法指導
1 .牢固扎實地掌握英語各項基礎知識并靈活運用(大到句法、詞法,小到大小寫、標點符號的使用,遣詞造句、連句成文等)。
2 .觀察理解試題要求的提示內容,獨立思考,組織信息材料,安排短語結構,決定先后順序,確定表達方法。
3 .會使用英語中的連詞,如 and , but , so ,等,使短文銜接自如,給文章潤色,提高表達效果。
4 .掌握并能熟練使用各種應用文的體例、常用語、格式等。
寫提示作文有技巧嗎?有!
1 .認真審題,明確要求。在提筆寫作之前,花幾分鐘時間,弄清題目提示的內容、格式、時間、環境等,以免出現文不對題的現象,造成不必要的時間浪費。審題應包括:
( 1 )仔細閱讀寫作要求和提示,在重點詞下劃線,以引起重視和注意;
( 2 )用 a , b , c 等符號排列要點,把材料分成主次;
( 3 )確定體裁、格式和人物;
( 4 )確定表達的時間主線——時態及其相關搭配用法。
2 .寫作一定要切題,抓住要點。
題目要求的內容應寫進去,以保證內容的完整。對于與要求無關的內容切忌任意發揮,畫蛇添足。
3 .寫作必須注意格式。
比如英漢信件、日記、通知在格式上就有較大的不同。平常應多讀、多記、多練相關文體課本、同步練習以達到實際運用的目的。
4 .注意語法正確、用詞得當、語言地道。在寫不同題材和體裁時,所用的句式、時態、語言特征及用詞均不同。寫作時要多從交流的角度考慮以上各個方面。
5 .寫作時切忌用漢譯英的方式進行。在寫信時,考生不要把題目中的.漢語指令直接譯成英語,要盡量用簡練的、地道的英語來寫。
6 .寫作應連貫、流暢。盡量使用最熟悉的詞句,少用復合句和長句,多用簡單句、短句和主動句。
7 .檢查時應著重注意以下內容:
( 1 )動詞的時態和語態;
( 2 )單詞拼寫;
( 3 )冠詞、介詞用法;
( 4 )語序;
( 5 )名詞的數與主謂一致;
( 6 )句意與語法的一致性;
( 7 )標點、格式、詞數等。
