　　Task 1: If you are about to make a donation to a community, which one would you prefer? City library, animal rescue center or environmental organization.

　　此題是三選一題型。回答時(shí)可從個(gè)人角度或社會(huì)角度出發(fā)來(lái)回答問(wèn)題。

　　例如選擇library，可以說(shuō)圖書館提升社區(qū)人文環(huán)境：比如give people more books to read->make people wiser或provide a better reading environment->attract more people to library->enrich the spiritual life of residents。另外也可以說(shuō)個(gè)人的喜好：我喜歡讀書->希望有更多的書讀/希望有更好的閱讀環(huán)境->希望可以捐錢給圖書館。

　　選擇animal rescue center亦可：社會(huì)角度：有很多流浪動(dòng)物(homeless animals)，既影響了市容市貌(make people feel bad)也有安全隱患(散播傳染病spread disease)。個(gè)人角度：我非常喜歡小動(dòng)物，很難忍受看到他們?cè)诮诸^露宿的慘狀(sometimes when I see those homeless animals I feel very sad for them)，希望能夠在收容所有更多投入，能夠拯救更多的動(dòng)物。

　　選擇環(huán)境組織：個(gè)人角度和社會(huì)角度的出發(fā)點(diǎn)類似，主要是提醒人們產(chǎn)生保護(hù)環(huán)境的意識(shí)(to remind people of environmental protection)以保證社會(huì)的可持續(xù)發(fā)展(sustainable development)，為后代創(chuàng)造更好的生存條件(better living conditions for our off-springs)，也是保護(hù)自己的健康。

　　答案示例，以最常見的Library為例：

　　Q: If you are about to make a donation to a community, which one would you prefer: The city library, animal rescue center or environmental organization?

　　A: I would like to donate my money to the city library. I think this will allow the library to purchase more books and create a better reading environment. First of all, the city library is an important place for people to look for certain books or information that they want, therefore trying to make the city library more comprehensive and all-inclusive will make it more convenient for those who come for help. Besides, the library is also a place for a lot of people to do their work, simply because of its quiet and peaceful environment. If more money is donated to further construct the utilities and better the service provided, for example if the library had a coffee house where people can grab something when they feel a little tired, it’ll make people a lot more productive with their work.

　　Task 2: Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: students should do part-time jobs before they enter college.

　　此題是機(jī)經(jīng)題，題號(hào)2012.1.8ML/2010.3.20NA。題目問(wèn)學(xué)生在上大學(xué)之前是否應(yīng)該做兼職。正反兩面的敘述皆可。正面敘述相對(duì)較為容易。

　　同意此觀點(diǎn)可以陳述的理由包括：做兼職能讓學(xué)生提早接觸工作，感受工作環(huán)境;讓學(xué)生感受掙錢是一件不容易的事情;鼓勵(lì)學(xué)生自給自足，早日脫離父母獨(dú)立生活等等。這個(gè)話題可以歸到part-time job的大類里。

　　具體陳述可采用論述法，如：學(xué)生在上大學(xué)之前大部分時(shí)間都在讀書，進(jìn)大學(xué)之前做一些兼職能夠拓展他們的視野(broaden their horizon或enrich their life experience)，讓學(xué)生對(duì)于工作有一個(gè)初步的認(rèn)識(shí)(establish an initial understanding of)。此外能讓他們理解掙錢的不易，這樣在花錢的時(shí)候就不會(huì)特別揮霍(waste their money on things they don’t actually need或spend money carelessly)。還可以讓學(xué)生有意識(shí)去管理自己的錢(manage their own account)，產(chǎn)生獨(dú)立的經(jīng)濟(jì)意識(shí)而不是始終依賴父母(rely on their parents)，這樣就能早日獨(dú)立生活(live independently)。另還有一點(diǎn)較為依賴個(gè)人經(jīng)歷但也可以作為論證理由的，即人生的第一桶金給人帶來(lái)的喜悅和成就感(the sense of joy and accomplishment)。

　　A: I agree with the idea that students should do part-time jobs before they enter college. For a start, most students have been studying in school for a long time before they enter college. Doing some part-time jobs will allow them to experience something different and something that they can never learn from school. For example, they can learn about how hard it is to earn money, so that they won’t spend money carelessly in the future. Secondly, it always feels good to earn money by yourself. When they earn money for the first time through their own effort, it will give them a huge sense of accomplishments, and this will possibly encourage them to live independently at an earlier age. Such experience should enrich the life experience of students and make their pre-college life more meaningful.
