　　With the growingly fast living tempo, an increasing number of people pay close attention to competition. However, although competition is all around us, cooperation is also an essential part of the society in which we live.

　　To begin with, people need cooperative skills to get along with others and to build relationships. No collective undertaking could ever succeed without the willingness of individuals to work together in a harmonious and organized way. In any corporate work-place, cooperation is needed within and between departments in order to make the business run smoothly. Furthermore, few employers would even consider hiring someone they believed could not work effectively as part of a team. In addition, cooperation increases creativity. For instance, according to findings issued by many institutes, scientists who consider themselves cooperative tend to have more published articles than their competitive colleagues; cooperative businesspeople have higher salaries. From elementary grades to college, cooperative students have higher salaries; from elementary grads to college, cooperative students have higher grade point averages.

　　Cooperation is as old as the human race itself. Since a cooperative spirit is important to survive and succeed, I believe that it should receive high emphasis in this era.

　　隨著生活節奏的日益加快，越來越多的人密切關注競爭。然而，雖然競爭緊緊圍繞著我們，但合作也是我們生活中至關重要的一部分。

　　首先，人們需要合作技巧跟他人和諧相處，建立種種關系。只有每個人愿意和諧有序地跟他人一起工作，共同的任務才會完成。在任何企業，要想順利完成工作，部門內部和部門間的合作是不可或缺的。此外，幾乎沒有雇主會考慮雇傭那些認為在團隊中不能高效工作的`人。而且，合作會激發創造力。例如，根據多家機構的研究表明：自認具備合作精神的科學家比起充滿競爭性的同事會有更多的文章得以發表;具備合作精神的商人會獲得更高的受益;從小學到大學，能與人合作的學生會取得更高的平均分。

　　開篇從競爭導入合作，提出主題。第二段論證合作的重要性：合作是順利完成工作的保證，也是建立和諧人際關系的根本;此外，合作能激發創造力，并舉例說明具備合作精神的科學家、商人和學生與那些欠缺合作精神的同行相比，在各自領域取得了更高的成就。最后點出合作與人類歷史一樣悠久，再次強調合作的重要性，首尾呼應。

　　Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a composition on the topic How to improve the graduates' mental health. Your essay should start with a brief description of the picture. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.

　　Graduates’ mental health has been playing an increasingly important role in the daily life. Actually, it is widely accepted that it has gained growing popularity among persons in all walks of life. However, in the season of graduation, it’s reported some cases of self-killing or mental disorder still happened.

　　Obviously, graduates face various kinds of pressure. When graduates confront with great pressure, the best method is to communicate with friends or family members to unburden the feelings. And the universities and colleges should also pay more attention to graduates’ mental health and take effective action such as providing psychological service for students helping them to deal with mental problems. From the perspective of parents, they should care more about their kids’ mental health, too. Though the parents cannot write the dissertation for the graduates, nor can they find a job, they can communicate with their kids and help them to figure out the reasons for the difficulties.

　　From the factors mentioned above, we may safely draw the conclusion that we can free ourselves from mental illness by taking certain precautions. For example, if you have pains or puzzles in mind, finding a friend to express is a good way to release pressure. Certainly, there is no doubt that further attention will be paid to this issue.
