　　1.discrepancy n.差異，不符臺，矛盾

　　【記】詞根記憶:dis(分開)+crep(破裂)+ancy一裂開一矛盾

　　【例】The discrepancy in their ales didn’t affect their love. 年齡的差異并沒有影響到他們的愛情。

　　2.discount v.懷疑地;看待;漠視，低估;打折扣

　　【記】聯(lián)想記憶:dis(沒有)+caunt(計算)一有計算在內(nèi)一打折扣

　　【例】The regular priced ones are here, and nn that tahle in the corner of the room we have some nn discount. 常規(guī)價的商品在這里。屋子角落的桌子上是一些折扣品。

　　(2001聽力)//at a discount Many stores have seasanai sales where the products are sold at n discount. 很多商店有季節(jié)性大減價。在那時商品打折出售。

　　用打折的固定說法：

　　1).at 15% discount (打八五折);

　　2).discount of 30%(七折)。

　　3.celebrate v.慶祝;歌頌

　　【記】詞根記憶:celebr(榮譽)+atef(使)一使…有榮譽一慶祝

　　【例】adysseus’s heroic exploits are celebrated in Tho Odyssey. 《奧德賽愁》史詩中歌頌了奧德修斯的豐功偉績。

　　5.absorb vt.吸收(水、熱、光等)：吸引(注意),使專心，使全神貫注

　　【記】詞根記憶：ab(表加強)+sorb(吸收)一吸收

　　【記】聯(lián)想記憶：inter(在…之間)+change(兌換)一相互兌換一交換，互換

　　【例】Workers should interchange labor and repose during the work. 工人們在工作中應誼勞逸結合。

　　7.discretion n.謹慎;自由裁奪;酌處權

　　【記】詞根記憶：dis+cret(搞清;區(qū)別)+ion--搞清楚--謹慎
