We have just moved into a new flat,like most people here living in their houses in the suburbs. Our house is big though it consists only two floors.
On the first floor there is the dining room, the lounge or sitting room, the kitchen and the hall. In the hall we set a stand for hats, coats and umbrellas. A staircase leads from the hall to the landing on the second floor; On this floor there are four bedrooms, a bathroom and a lavatory.In front of the house we have a small garden in which we grow flowers: roses,tulips and some fruit trees. Thereis also a vegetable garden where we grow all kinds of vegetables, such as cabbages, cauliflowers, and tomatoes. We all know how to plant vegetables for my father was once a vegetable grower.
At the side of the house is a garage. We haven't got a car up to now, but my moths said: we'd have one at the end of this year. People ,in this high-consumer city are very rich, not like the people live in the inland,cities.

A pet is all animal which is raised or kept by people as a companion. In recent years, more and more people, old or young, rich or poor, like to keep a pet such as a dog, a cat, a monkey and so on.
Pets are loved by people. They not only are good friends to their masters but also become members of the family. Although they are not human beings, their behavior sometimes is better than the human beings, for they always remain obedient and loyal to the master. There are many stories in which we are told that a pet saved his or her master＇s life or even traveled thousands of miles to return home. This makes them more lovely. Moreover, trained pets are very helpful. For instance, a trained dog can help the blind to walk and a trained pig can even find out drugs from the imports goods.
But pets are sometimes trouble-makers. Some pets such as dogs or snakes may attack people unexpectedly. A lot of people become ill or get infected because of the virus carried hy their pets. And some pets are dirty and poisonous. Therefore, we do not advocate keeping pets.

Stepping into the new century, environment pollution has become more serious than ever since. There are different kinds of pollution. Such as, water pollution, air pollution and noise pollution and so on. It seems that we live on a planet which is full of pollution. Where all these pollution comes from? To a large extend, the environmental destruction is the heavy price that we pay for the rapid development of economy and the growing population. In order to have more fuel, people cut down trees and dig more corals. But the growing needs for energy are hardly to meet. Countless private cars on the street, the gas stations are short of gasoline, even the government has raise the price so many times in order to control the needs of gasoline, but it’s still not working. Overusing the natural resources has already affected the ecological balance. However, the factories still release the toxic air into the sky and the polluted water into the rivers. People still lack of the conscious of protecting the environment. I think it’s time for all of us to do something.

Because of this, suburban areas surrounding cities have been allowed to sprawl more and more widely. This means that people can' t even go to the store without having to hop into the car. Everything is too far away from where they live. If there were better and more frequent public transportation, people would be able to give up their cars for local driving. As a result of all the cars being driven, we’ re dealing with terrible pollution problems. In big cities, there are days during the summer when the elderly and people with respiratory problems are advised not to leave the house. Ten years ago this was unheard of! Now it' s the norm. Public transportation would cut down considerably on air pollution. Public transportation also encourages a sense of community. People who travel to work together all the time get to know each other. Car isolate us from neighbors. However, people feel they need to drive because they can' t depend on public transportation to fit their schedules. If more money were available, buses, subways and trains could run 24 hours a day. Then they would be available all the time to the people who need them. I always try to take public transportation whenever possible, and I encourage friends and neighbors to try it too. I think we must support public transportation in order to create a better world.
