There is no denying the fact that it has been a hotly debated topic in China whether people should have their own cars. Peoples opinions differ sharply on this issue. Some hold the positive view. They say that the car provides the most convenient form of transportation. Besides, a car is a comfortable way to travel, especially in winter. Finally, a driver is usually safe in his car when he is out at night.
Others, however, hold the opposite view. They say that there are many disadvantages to owning a car. For one thing, it can be very expensive to purchase and run a car. For another, owning a car can also cause worry and stress. It is exhausting to drive a car in heavy traffic. What is worse, cars are responsible for most of the smog in cities, which pollutes the environment seriously.
In spite of all the above mentioned, I still favor owning a car. The reason is that the car gives a person the freedom to schedule his own time. Though we are confronted with a problem of energy crisis, I am sure that the real solution will have to be a new kind of car, one that uses cheap, efficient fuel and does not contaminate the air.

It goes without saying that some people prefer long vacations because they can have enough time to do things that cannot be finished within a short time. During a long vacation, they may make a complicated experiment, carry out an involved investigation or go to a faraway place for some necessary field work. Taking a full time job to earn money for one or two months is another benefit the long vacation provides and sometimes a good academic thesis with a considerable length needs a long vacation.
What is more, those who favor short vacations also have understandable reasons. For two or three weeks rest is adequate for students to refresh themselves without forgetting the lessons that are to be continued next semester. Short vacations also mean to rest three times a school year and short semesters. To study in this way is easier than to study for a long exhausting time with many courses and lessons crammed together.
As has been noted, either long or short vacation has its advantages and disadvantages. What matters is how to make use of it.

But since I studied at Shimen Experimental School, Shimen was my second home. There is a lot of students’ mirth and teachers’ kind teaching. It as if my real home. I love here.
Contrast other middle schools, although our school is not very big, but it’s full of warmth in it. In our school, the teachers are liked our parents. They teached us knowledge self-giving. Although “teacher” this job was so tired, but our teachers said that they felt happy when they saw us. The teachers still put right and excuse for our errors in spite of making mistakes. So we love our teachers!
Classmates are liked our brothers and sisters. We will give help if someone had something difficult or problems. We not only classmates but also friends, forever friends! Sometimes we have rubs, yet we won’t feel angry and will realise each other. So this is friendship!
I am in Class Two, Grade Two. For aught I know our class is not the best one in the grade, but I still be proud of it.
Mrs. Nong is our class adviser. She is strict but love us. We all called her “Class Mother”. Because she was liked our mother. It’s interesting, isn’t it? Although we come from different places, but we still flock together, and Class Two is our Eden. I love it very much!
Shimen gives more things to me. I never forget it—it’s my lovely home!
