Some people take it for granted that some lucky numbers can bring them good luck. For instance, the so-called lucky number “8” is widely used now because it is sounded like “getting rich” in Chinese and is believed to bring good fortune.
Yet many others don’t think so. They think that numbers have nothing to do with luck. They regard numbers simply as a mathematic symbols for counting. They are anything but a mystery. They laugh at those who think numbers can bring good luck.
I’m in favor of the latter opinion. I think our society is very modern now. We mustn’t count on the so-called lucky numbers to fulfill our wishes. Whether we can have good luck depends on ourselves. If we work hard, good luck will come to us.

現(xiàn)在的生活中已經(jīng)離不開英語了，比如說：高速公路、鐵路的路標(biāo)下面都注有英語;停車牌都用的字母“P”;公交車上先用中文報站，然后又用英語報一遍……可以說英語已經(jīng)融入了我們的生活。
我的爸爸是70年代的人，以前沒有學(xué)過多少英語，即使能多少讀幾句，但讀出來的音也非常古怪。針對這種現(xiàn)狀，上周星期六我便給爸爸當(dāng)了一回英語小老師。
我先在本子上寫了四個字母讓他讀，他一開始，看見這些字母，非常高興。他說：“這就是你們所學(xué)的英語嗎?不就是我們在幼兒園時學(xué)的拼音嗎?”我大笑起來：“爸爸，你可真沒見識，這不是拼音，只是跟拼音的寫法一樣，讀法卻完全不一樣。”我知道爸爸這是在開玩笑，或是考驗我，他不是還能讀幾句別扭的英語嗎?我認(rèn)真地教爸爸讀了這四個字母，接著又教他讀“你好”、“再見”等英文單詞，開始爸爸和我們在學(xué)習(xí)一樣，覺得很無聊，不想學(xué)了。我嚴(yán)厲地對他說：“這學(xué)英語可不是一朝一夕就能學(xué)會的，要有一定的毅力去長期學(xué)習(xí)。”聽了我的話，爸爸認(rèn)真多了，我們又開始學(xué)習(xí)了許多新的.單詞。
本周星期五回家，我和爸爸重溫了一下那天學(xué)習(xí)的單詞。通過檢驗，爸爸也居然能讀能寫我教他的二十多個常用英語單詞了。我高興極了，體會到了當(dāng)老師的無比快樂。
