　　Depend on Yourself

　　Depend on yourself" is what nature says to every man. Parents can help you. Teachers can help you. Others still can help you. But all these people only help you to help yourself.

　　There have been many great men in history. Many of them were very poor in childhood, and had no uncles, aunts or friends to help them. Schools were few and not very good. They could not depend on them for education. They saw how it was, and set to work with their strength to know something. They worked their own way till they became well-known. One of the most famous teachers in England used to tell his pupils, "1 cannot make worthy men of you, but I can help you make men of yourselves."

　　Some young men don＇t try their best to make themselves valuable to human beings. They can not gain achievements unless they see their weakness and change their course. They are nothing now, and will be nothing as long as they live, unless they accept the advice of their parents and teachers, and depend on their own efforts.

　　依靠自己

　　“依靠自己”是自然告訴每個人的。父母可以幫助你。老師可以幫助你。其他人也可以幫助你。但是所有這些人都只是幫你幫助你自己。

　　歷史上有許多偉人。其中很多偉人小時候都非常貧窮，他們沒有叔叔、姑姑或朋友幫助他們。 學校數(shù)量少，質(zhì)量差。他們也無法依靠學校接受教育。他們認識到這一情況，然后就開始自己努力去學習一些事情。他們排除萬難直到最后成功。英國最為著名的其中一位老師曾經(jīng)這樣告訴他的學生：“我沒法使你們出人頭地，但我可以幫助你們做人”。

　　有些年輕人不努力使自己成為對人類有益的人。除非他們能夠認識到自己的弱點，改變自己的方向，否則他們就不會取得成就。除非他們能夠接受父母、老師的建議，依靠自己的努力，否則他們現(xiàn)在一無所成，而且終其一生都會一無所成。

　　Cactuses are used to living in desert. The whole body of a cactus is green. The stalk is oval and there are thorns all over its body. Actually the thorns in their bodies are their leaves. The leaves are like this only because they can stop the water in their bodies from evaporating into the hot and dry air. The cactuses have long roots and they take their roots deep into the earth so that they can get the water from deeper soil.

　　Their flowers are always small and white.Although they are ignored in the desert, they never give up coming out and always decorate the desert silently.

　　中國人喜歡吹牛，他們夸大自己的財產(chǎn)，希望人們尊重他們。有趣的是只有不成功的人才會吹牛，真正成功的人是沉默的，他們努力工作，事業(yè)的成功支撐著他們的自尊。如果我們想要別人尊重我們，我們應該展示我們真實的一面，對人友好，不要吹牛。

　　Last summer holiday, I went to the International English summer camp in Shanghai.

　　On 24th July, my two good friends and I were on duty. When we finished cleaning the classroom, it was about 8:50 in the evening. Then we prepared to go to students’ dorm.

　　Outside the building, it was very dark. There was only a moon and some small stars in the sky. At that moment, we were all afraid.

　　On our way to the dorm, I walked in front of them. I was looking at the ground while I was walking. Suddenly, I saw several pieces of pa-pe-r on the ground. What is it?I was very curious. Then I picked it up. Oh, it was money. It was 45 yuan altogether. Later, one of my friends ran to me,"May, look, I found 5 yuan!" Was this a coincidence? I put the money together. When I got to my bedroom. I gave the money to the teacher. At last, the teacher found the owner.

　　Money is important, but money is not anything and cannot buy all the things in the world.

　　Honesty is one of these kinds of things. It's really important for everyone to be honest. If everyone can be honest, I believe our world will be more wonderful!

　　2.I love English

　　When I was seven,I started learning English.I played games and sang English songs with other children.Sometimes,I watched English cartoons.It's funny.Then I discovered the beauty of the language,and began my colorful dream in the English world.

　　I hope I can travel around the world someday.I want to go to America to visit Washington,because my cousin is over there.Of course,I want to go to London too,because England is where English language developed.If I can ride my bike in Cambridge University,I will be very happy.

　　I hope I can speak English with everyone in the world.Also I'll introduce China to them,such as the Great Wall,and the gardens in Suzhou.I will teaching people of the world about the beautiful language of our country.

　　I like the English language.To learn English is wonderful.I once wanted to be an English teacher.I also like Chinese literature.When I was really young, I was able to remember lots of poems.I also wanted to be a teacher of Chinese.Now I think that both of my dreams can come true:I will be able to use English to teach foreign friends Chinese and share Chinese culture with them.So that more and more people will be able to get to know the 5000 years' history culture,and the prosperity of our great China.

　　My future is not a dream.I am confident that it will come true.
