注意一 because 除用于引導(dǎo)原因狀語從句外，還可引出表語從句。如：
It is because he is too foolish. 那是因為他太蠢了。
It is because youre eating too much. 那是因為你吃得太多了。
注意二 漢語可以說因為所以，但是英語卻不能使用 becauseso這樣的結(jié)構(gòu)。改正的辦法是，要么去掉其中的because，使之成為并列句;要么去掉so，使之成為主從復(fù)合句。如：
因為他很忙，所以不能來。
誤：Because he is very busy, so he cant come.
正：Because he is very busy, he cant come.
正：He is very busy, so he cant come.
注意三 漢語說之所以是因為，說成英語通常是The reason (why)is that其中的that最好不用because代替。如：
The reason (why) Im late is that [because] I missed the bus. 我遲到的原因是因為我沒有趕上公共汽車。
注意四 在 not...because... 這一結(jié)構(gòu)中，not 有時否定主句，有時否定從句，具體視語境而定。一般說來，若 not 否定主句，最好在because 之前用逗號，否則會引起歧義，如下句在沒有特定上下文時就有兩種解釋：
I didnt go because I was afraid.
a. 我沒有去是因為怕。
b. 我不是因為怕才去。

為了簡潔起見，有的狀語從句(如時間狀語從句、條件狀語從句、方式狀語從句等)有時可省略從句的主語和部分謂語(尤其是當(dāng)從句主語與主句主語一致，且從句謂語包括有動詞be時)：
She fell asleep while (he was) doing his homework.
他在做作業(yè)時睡著了。
While (he was) doing so, he trembled a little.
他這樣做時稍稍顫抖了一下。
He opened his mouth as if (he was) to speak.
他張開口，好像要說話似的。
Often she would weep when (she was) alone.
她一個人時，常常哭泣。
I’d like to see you whenever (it’s) convenient.
