people usually place a christmas tree,wich is decorated with colorful lights sweets and gifts,in their living rooms at
christmas.in northern europe,the trees that remained green throughout the year were worshipped as symbols of eternal life.it is said that mistletoe,hung up as a christmas decoration,allow you to kiwhoever you like underneath it.a tele tells that balder the sun god,was killed by an arrow of mistletoe made by the god of
evil ,loki.balder,however,was bought back to life,and the mistletoe was told never to harmbalder again.perhaps for this reason the mistletoe become a symbol of love and reconciliation.

statistics show that strecomes from every detail in our life . financial problems , poor health , being laid off may be the strethat most adults now suffering . as students in the university , we are also under our special stre. while study , having to take various tests and submit a project against a deadline may put a great pressure on us . and the things make us felt stressed may be our
parents’s greater expectations on us than we could reach . later , when we are likely to graduate , some other problems will also annoy us . i think we will worry a lot about our ability to compete in the job market and how we can best use what we’ve learned at college in our future job .
the chief problem we should face to is our atitude towards stre.people usually say they can not live in the sun except they escape from stre. it’s unwelcome ! yes , however , very necessary . just image a world where stredoes not exist and people lead their life in a very comfortable way . but is this kind of living condition as perfect as we hope ? without stre, they may feel very satisfied with the current life but lack of power to discover new things . too much satisfaction result in nothing except a countermarch of the society . no stre, no development . so a certain amount of streis good . it can stimulate us and increase our level of alertne.
and our answer to streis another vital problem . how to do with ourselves when stresuddenly break into our life ? to wave the white flag and admit our unability , to give up to our ideality , or
worstly , just to suicide as to put an end to everything … of cause not . the principle is to tackle with stregentlely and harmoniously. we should try our best to release ourselves . such as to do some exercise , to linsen to traditional chinese music or classical music to ease our minds and to learn to view these changes of life as
challenges .it’s no use crying over spilt milk . only to accept what has happened can solve the problem .

Fisrt,I think we should know when is Christmas day.Yeah,it's December twenty-fifth.
And why choose this day?We need to know the feast of Christmas.It's a Christian holiday that celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ. Today,it has become a national holiday which can be compared with the New Year.It is similar to the Spring Festival in China.
How to celebrate it?Let me introduce you the customs and traditional activites in the following time.The night of December twenty-forth is called Christmas Eve.On Christmas,people don't go to work and children don't go to school.Before the day comes,people must prepare for Christmas trees,Christmas lights,Christmas cards.On Christmas eve, we know an traditional activity called carolling.They sing many Christmas carols .Before go to sleep,the children hang a stocking at the end of their beds for Santa's presents.And they often wake up early in the Christmas day to check the presents.Then the family will have a big Christmas dinner.
In the Western, each family need to prepare a Christmas tree to enhance the festive atmosphere. Christmas tree is generally made with evergreen such as cypress It is a symbol of life forever. Christmas tree often decorated with a variety of candles, flowers, toys, stars and all kinds of Christmas gifts. On Christmas Eve, people around the Christmas tree are singing and dancing.
On Christmas Eve, Christmas caroling has become an indispensable program. The team is made up of about twenty young people, plus a little girl who dressed as an angel and a Santa Claus.When they went to a family,they will sing some familiar Christmas carols like "Silent Night", "Jingle Bells" and so on,The songs mostly is about the birth of Jesus.Then all of people prayed together and Santa Claus will deliver the Christmas gifts.The activity continue until about four o'clock the next morning.
Although everyone enjoys Christmas Day,it is particularly enjoyed by children,who get very excited because of the presents. It is said that there was a kind old man whose name was Saint Nicholas. He often helped the poor and gave presents to them. Today, Santa Claus is an imaginary figure, but nearly all children believe in him. They think he is a happy old man with a long white beard and a long red robe.Another name for Santa Claus is Father Christmas.
People always wake up early. in the Christmas morning Some people may go to a Christmas morning church service .But most people will just watch the special Christmas programmes TV or play party games but the mothers will be in the kitchen preparing Christmas Dinner.
Everyone enjoy it,because Christmas dinner is the main meal of the day, some families arrange it at lunch, and some families arrange it at dinner.Major food for the Christmas meal is turkey or roast goose, puddings and a variety of cookies such as the golden butter cookies, fruit cookies and so on. The custom of eating turkey is popular in the Unite States from 1620 And British Christmas dinner is roast goose.

The name Christmas is short for 'Christ's Mass'. A Mass is a kind of Church service. Christmas is a religious festival. It is the day we celebrate as the birthday of Jesus.
The birth of Jesus had a story: In Nazareth, a city of Galilee. The virgin's name was Mary was betrothed to Joseph. Before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. Joseph her husband was minded to put her away secretly. While he thought about these things, Gabriel, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and told him did not be afraid to take Mary as wife. And Mary will bring forth a Son, and he shall call his name, Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.
And that, Christmas is the feast of the nativity of Jesus, is on 25th, December every year. But nobody know the actual birthday of Jesus. And the Christmas has become popular when Christmas cards appeared in 1846 and the concept of a jolly Santa Claus was first made popular in nineteenth Century.
Christmas Eve is also commonly says Christmas Eve ,and the family reunion in the sitting room, will be around the tree to sing Christmas carols and exchange gifts, and share the joys and sorrows of a life, express the wish and love.
The red and white sceneries is Santa Claus, He is the most popular pepole. Western children on Christmas Eve will put a sock near the fireplace or a pillow before going to sleep, They thought Santa Claus will fill it with gifts in the sleep.
It si said that Santa Claus would drive reindeer sleigh full guild to send gifts for the children on Christmas Eve, he would enter into the house quietly by the chimney, put present in stocking.which hangs on the head of a bed .So the children always strips of colour profusion stockings at the head of a bed, and hope that Santa Claus would send a gift for himself. The next day , every child can't wait to open the ritual, want to know what his reward.
Christmas tree really appear in Germany, after the first introduced to Europe and America, and become the indispensable Christmas decorations. They usually use colourful lights, wax, gifts or angels, for Christmas . Every tree must have a big star at the top of the tree, symbolized star that guide the magi found Jesus.
A traditional Christmas dinner in America includes stuffed turkey , mashed potatoes, , and a variety of other dishes. Roast turkey is the most popular main course not only in the United States, Favorite desserts include mince pie or pumpkin pie, and fruitcake. Eggnog is a popular Christmas beverage （飲料） in many homes. In Britain, Christmas dinner is eaten at noon, and the dinner usually includes roast turkey or goose, Christmas pudding with mince pies, and accompanied by wine.

圣誕節便始于十二月二十五日紀念耶蘇的誕生，但真實的誕生日就沒有人知道了。十九世紀，圣誕卡的流行、圣誕老人的出現，圣誕節也開始流行起來了。
圣誕節前夕也就是俗說的平安夜，當晚，全家人會團聚在客廳中，圍繞在圣誕樹旁唱圣誕歌曲，互相交換禮物，彼此分享一年來生活中的喜怒哀樂，表達內心的祝福及愛。 紅色與白色相映成趣的是圣誕老人，他是圣誕節活動中最受歡迎的人物。西方兒童在圣誕夜臨睡之前，要在壁爐前或枕頭旁放上一只襪子，等候圣誕老人在他們入睡后把禮物放在襪子內。
據說平安夜的晚上，圣誕節老公公會駕著馴鹿雪橇滿載著禮物準備送點這一年來表現很好的小朋友，他會悄悄地從煙囪爬進屋內，禮物塞在掛在床頭的襪子里。所以孩子總會把一條條色彩繽紛的襪子掛在床頭，希望送份大禮給自己。 隔天每個小朋友都迫不及待地打開禮，想知道自己得到什么獎勵。
然而圣誕樹真正出現在圣誕節，首先見于德國，之后又傳入歐洲和美國，成為圣誕節不可或缺的裝飾物。每棵樹的頂端必定有一棵特大的星星，像征著那顆引導東方三博士找到耶穌的星星。
在美國，圣誕節宴席上的傳統食物有填餡的火雞、土豆泥等。烤火雞不但在美國，在加拿大、澳大利亞和新西蘭也是圣誕宴席上最普遍的主菜。人們最喜歡的飯后甜點包括甜餡餅或南瓜餡餅、李子布丁和水果蛋糕。蛋奶酒是許多家庭喜歡的飲料。在英國，圣誕宴在中午舉行，傳統食品有烤火雞或烤鵝、圣誕布丁、甜餡餅和葡萄酒。
