今年紀念國際消除貧困日的活動重點放在體面的工作、有意義的就業和創收生計。總之：是關于就業問題。
Decentandproductiveworkisoneofthemosteffectivewaystofightpovertyandbuildself-sufficiency.
體面的和生產性的工作是消除貧困和建立自給自足最有效的方法之一。
Yettoday,morethanhalftheworld'sworkingpopulationisinvulnerableemployment.Theylackformalworkarrangementsandsocialsecurity,andoftenearntoolittletoprovidefortheirfamilies,letaloneclimbtheladderofeconomicopportunity.Theglobaleconomiccrisishasfurtherpushedanestimated64millionintopovertyandunemploymentisupbymorethan30millionsince2016.
然而，今天，世界一半以上的勞動人口就業狀況脆弱。他們缺乏正式的工作安排和社會保障，常常收入太少，無法養活家庭，更不用說改善經濟狀況。全球經濟危機更是將約6400萬人推向貧窮，自2016年以來，失業人口增加了3000多萬。

如何才能縮小貧窮與體面工作之間的差距？辦法是在經濟和社會政策方面投資，促進創造就業機會；促進體面勞動條件，深化社會保障制度。獲得教育、衛生和就業培訓的機會也是必不可少的。
