OnNewYear'sEve,ourclasshadaparty.Theatmospherewasgood.Itwasoutoftheordinaryfromtheverybegining.Theboystudentfromonebedroomgaveanunusualperformance.WesawaboynamedLiXinminturnoffallthelightsinasuddensnap.Thenwiththreeresoundingcrowofacockechoinginthehall,thehallwasagainbrightlylitinasnap.

Then,therepresentativeofthebedroomZhuGuozhangaskedustoguessalineofapoemrelatedtotheabovesituation.HeaddedthatLiXinminalonewasbornintheyearofthedogandtheotherthreewereallbornintheyearofthechicken.Theyleftusallinconfusion.Anditwasourmonitorwhowasquickwitted.Heshoutedour,"Thedaybreaksasthecockcrowsthreetimesatdawn."ThehallAfterthat,theyhadanotheritem.ThistimeLiXinminwasplacedinthemiddleofthecircle.Whilehewasstandingthere,theotherthreestoodaroundhim,eachbowingdowntohimatanangleof120degrees.Itwasanidiom.ThistimeIgotitright:"Thedogstandsoutamongagroupofchickens."

Thenweallsangandplayedgamesuntilitwaseleveno'clockatnight.Theoldmanonnightwatchcametoturnoffthelights.Wehadtotearourselvesawayfromtheparty.

Fromthisactivity,Idiscoveredthatmanyofourclassmatesarereallytalentedsingers.

新年晚會

除夕，我們班開了個晚會，氣氛很好。一開始就不同凡俗，有個男生寢室出了個令人大感意外的節目。只見一個叫李新民的男生“啪”一下關掉了所有的燈，三聲“雞叫聲”響徹大廳后。“啪”的一聲，大廳又重放光明。

然后，該寢室的代表朱國章讓我們大家猜一句關于上述情景的詩。他還解釋說除了李新民屬狗外，其他三人都屬雞。大家都給他們弄愣了。還是班長反應較快，喊道：“雄雞三唱天下白!”結果全場轟然大笑。

然后，他們又出了一個節目，讓李新民站在中間，其他三個人圍著他每人拜廠120度。要求打一成語。這一次我猜中了：“狗立雞群!”

接著，大家唱歌做游戲，玩到晚上11點多。值班的老大爺來熄燈時，我們才不得不結束晚會而回到各自的寢室。

通過這次活動。我發現班上很多同學都是天才歌手!

2.NewYear'sDayisoneofimportantdaysformanypeopleintheworldduringtheyear.MostpeoplespendtheNewYear'sDayinhotels.January1stisconsideredastheNewYear'sDay.Mostcompanies,shops,school,andgovernmentofficesareclosedduringthattime.PeopleprepareforNewYear'sDayfromlateDecember.First,peoplespendafewdaystocleantheirhousescompletely.SomefamiliesthenputupsomenewpaintingfromNovembertobesentinJanuary.TheNewYear'smealisalsopreparedfromtheendofDecember.DuringtheNewYear'sDay,peopleusuallydonotcookandrelaxathome.OnNewYear'sEve,itiscommontohaveabagdinnerwithfamilymembersorfriendsathomeorinhotelsandhearbellswhichinformsusofthecomingNewYear.OnNewYear'sDay,peoplegreeteachother.SomepeoplewearnewcoatsandvisittemplestoprayforhappinessandhealththroughouttheNewYear.Childrenarebusywithgettingthegiftsfromtheirparentsandrelatives.
